King Slice on Dundas offers more than just their renowned pizza; their Pasta Bolognese is a hidden gem that truly impresses. This dish showcases the restaurant's versatility and commitment to quality, featuring perfectly al dente pasta coated in a rich, savory meat sauce. The sauce is robust, with a harmonious blend of tomatoes, ground beef, and aromatic herbs that create a deeply satisfying flavor. The portion is generous, ensuring a fulfilling meal.
While the Pasta Bolognese stands out, the pizza offerings are noteworthy as well. The pizza slices are massive, so large they often need to be served on two plates. Classics like Margherita and Pepperoni are popular, with the Margherita pizza earning a high rating of 9/10. The signature slice with a classic mix of healthy toppings is so good that it feels like it boosts metabolism and warms up after eating. The Deluxe pizza received mixed reviews, with some describing it as bland. The restaurant's selection of Brio sodas is worth trying, with the lime flavor receiving a perfect 10/10 rating.
King Slice is known for its fantastic sandwiches, such as the flavorful veal sandwich, and a pleasant surprise was the Caesar salad with homemade dressing that balanced flavors well. The house-made garlic oil is a special touch, allowing customers to drizzle it on their crust or entire pizza, enhancing the flavor experience. The service is fast and friendly, making for a good dining experience, and takeout can be a better option during busy times since the place can get small and crowded. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, although bathrooms can be a little hard to access.
Overall, King Slice has a diverse menu with both hits and misses. The Pasta Bolognese, Margherita pizza, and friendly atmosphere make it a neighborhood favorite that keeps customers coming back. Many visitors recommend starting with a Margherita slice, and the staff, especially Jake and Vo, are known for providing the best experience.
