What a breathtaking treat. I had their classic scone with jam and clotted cream. The place smells so wonderful and buttery.

Possibly the most cosy little shop in the city. They sell really amazing scones and even antique tea cups and pots.

Recommend the scones with clotted cream or jam.

Charming cafe that sells delicious buttermilk scones. I appreciate that you can get clotted cream here! I also really enjoyed the homemade jam. The service was good also. But I have to say that the tea I ordered was slightly disappointing. I think nailing the perfect cup of tea is an essential component to any establishment selling British fare. I think this cafe would greatly benefit from adding a few small tables and additional seating.

My visit was disappointing. Firstly, the space was strictly for take away, with almost no seating, and drinks are served in plain disposable cups instead of nice tea cups, which really takes away from the tea shop experience. Additionally, I found some reviews online to be misleading regarding the dine-in setup.

On a positive note, the scones were absolutely delicious—so good that I bought extra to share with my family.

Sadly, the buttercream tea cake was a letdown in terms of flavor, and I wouldn’t recommend the cake.

I visited Kitten and the Bear before Christmas to buy some gifts. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was looking for a bag of their scone mix, which was out of stock, but they said they wouldn't have more until the next day. I live a bit outside of Toronto, so I was bummed to hear this, but one of the staff members who was working in the kitchen came to the front and said to give him 10 minutes, and he would make one up for me. It was so kind and was the kind of customer service that really shines in a great small business. The scones and jam I got were great, and I will definitely be going back soon!

On a freezing cold day, there should be a table and chairs inside to enjoy a scone and tea/coffee. 3 customers squashed onto the bench by the door spoils the whole atmosphere. Great scones and jam, worth coming here for, but seating, please!

Scones are my favourite food on gods green earth so I’m quite picky. I saw people posting about these being the best in Toronto and I think they may be right. I got one of each flavour and I can’t wait to go back for more. The flavour and texture is perfect. These people know what they’re doing. The original buttermilk and the gingerbread were my favourites with the earl grey and blueberry right behind.

There are no seats though. So if you plan to go and sit and eat there like we did, just know it’s not an option and is takeout only.

Amazing customer service and the scone was fab!!!

Got the buttermilk one with raspberry jam. I didn’t even know this shop existed so I’m glad I walked by it today.

Lovely people. Just a little misleading - it's take out only, no space to dine in and the cream tea bundle only includes tea bags not brewed tea. A little dissappointed because the photos made it seem like we could dine in

Kitten and the Bear is a little slice of breakfast heaven in Toronto! The scones are buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth, paired perfectly with their house-made jams. Cozy, charming, and perfect for a slow, dreamy morning with tea. A must-visit for anyone who loves pastries and a relaxing atmosphere!
