A friend and I went for lunch to catch up for lunch last week.
I thought the food and service was great. The place was pleasant and service was fast and friendly.. a great place to meet friends or the wife and kids to eat out. I am going back soon 😊

Walked in. Asked where to line up to order. I was told where to stand. Waited patiently. Someone else walked in and they took their order before me.

This place has lost its charm. The staff is all lovely...except for one, who is always expressing their frustration/annoyance on the staff and customers, you will know who it is if you go. Its always the same individual. Prices have in increased (for my regular order) and portion sizes are smaller. But the reason I won't be back is because of one employee (or owner). P.s. The guy who cooks the eggs is amazing, always kind and welcoming.

Very rude lady at the front. We came in to order two bagels for takeout and she looked at us like we were from another planet. We asked if it was a sit-down restaurant or for take-out. They never told us clearly. Every step of the way she gave us dirty looks and seemed angry we were ordering from her. When we were at the cash we asked about the price and she shrugged it off and didn’t want to clarify the cost and answer our questions. I think she automatically pressed a tip option to inflate the cost without informing us of this. My partner proceeded to inform her she had poor customer service and an unpleasant attitude. We asked to speak to the manager but she said there is no manager. No coworker eagerly came to help us. What kind of people do you hire to work here? Very sad because we actually wanted to try the bagels but since service was horrible we decided to walk out.

It's a good spot. The food options are great and reasonably priced. Service is great. I'd definitely recommend the turkey avocado club.

Constantly cancel Ritual orders because they can’t handle a morning / afternoon rush. Don’t be on Ritual if you can’t fulfill orders.

Do not go here. Prices are not fair. They try to charge me $5.65 for 1 bagel. Meanwhile, my friend came to the same window. And they only charge them a $ 1.94 This place is false advertisement trash. Do not come. I guess they were cringing at the fact that I brought a Tim Horton's cup to the window
Kiva's is something of an institution in Toronto. Founded in 1979, they have three locations (this one, Yonge and Eglinton, and Bathurst and Steeles) and they have exactly the assortment of bagels, schmears, appetizers, and baked goods you would expect at a traditional Jewish bagel shop. For this review I had the tuna salad "on a cloud" (i.e. with cream cheese), on an untoasted sesame seed bagel. Aesthetically the sandwich looks exactly how I want it. If I go to Kiva's, I don't want some fancy new wave looking sandwich (I eat enough of those, if you look at some of my older reviews!). What I'm looking for at Kiva's is the bagel sandwich I've been eating since I've been old enough to eat bagels, and that's exactly what you get here. The bagel itself was adequate. It's a bit too tough and dense for my liking. It's definitely a step above some of the more awful options (looking at you Tim Hortons), but there are a number of bakeries I prefer for bagels.Although I wasn't a big fan of the bagel itself, the tuna salad is marvelous, especially paired with cream cheese. It's the perfect consistency and tastes delicious. I sometimes order containers of the tuna salad and put it on bagels of my choosing, which I think is the smart play.Overall, I'm glad there's a bagel institution in the St. Clair and Yonge area, although it isn't my favourite place in the city. But it's a consistent, solid option at a reasonable price point, which is enough to justify a visit.

The bagel was so so dry and the lady had so much attitude as soon as we walked in. She didn’t even put gloves on in one hand picking my lettuce and I had to ask her. Bagel is terrible and their cheese tastes so weird and plastic. I would never go back, bad quality specially for this neighbourhood.

The woman behind the counter was so aggressively rude that we had to leave. Shockingly poor service.
