I tend to gravitate towards newer-type coffeeshops, but I gave Barista a chance on a rainy day. I got a croissant, tiramisu cup, and a latte - I was impressed by the quality of the treats. Also they were the perfect size for 1 person. The cafe is well lit and welcoming, although located in a mall lobby. They also offer small meals. This one definitely wins out for me over the Starbucks upstairs with gloomy vibes, inadequate seating and bad light. The patrons in La Barista are often a bit older but I'd say, give it a chance even if you prefer buzzier locations. It was nice to hear the regulars and a sense of a cafe rooted in its community

This is an underrated coffee shop! They have quite a few tasty flavored coffee! I always buy small coffee of either Vanilla Hazelnut or Toasted coconut flavor! And it costs less than 3 dollar! Full support to them.

I come to this cafe in the lower ground floor of the Yonge St Clair Centre every week. Welcoming and friendly staff who go out of their way to be helpful and have a kind word for all their customers. Tables are always clean and well presented. Comfy chairs too! I like that they offer mugs as well as paper cups for coffee. A delicious collection of baked treats to go with the coffee!

What a gem! I came across this cafe only because my new job brought me to this location and i have to say this cafe put a huge smile on my face! It's super simple but the staff is so kind and helpful. And the prices!! I thought prices like that don’t exist in Toronto anymore! I got a small brew coffee for $2.50 and mind you their small to go cup is the size of Starbucks's medium! There is a nice lounge area with tables and nice chairs to sit at and it was very clean when i came! Most of the people at the cafe where elderly and i watched the staff having the sweetest conversations with them making it clear that they come here a lot. Bravo to the cafe owner for keeping it simple but beautiful, with affordable prices and kind staff!
