Been coming here for 25 years ...always amazing ...mejor comida latina en Toronto
Delicious food and decent portions... some of the side places are a bit smaller for what i expected. That staff are very kind and they were able to accommodate my requests to change to lower car as needed.

The word I would use to describe the meals I always have here is: frustrated. This is an establishment with great potential. The service and atmosphere are excellent. The flavors are unique in the city. And yet, they miss the mark on the fundamentals that hold this restaurant back from being one of the pearls of this city. The meat is dry and overcooked. Chicken, beef or pork. The flavor and char are great, so it is frustrating that they cannot fix that one aspect. The salads are underdressed. Frustrating again as they have delicious sauces and clearly are capable of producing a seasoned salad. These little, what should be easy, fixes would take these meals to 5 stars. Still worth coming to, and I will continue to. But the experience is frustrating.

Overall food quality was very good. Portion was quite large and the prices were very reasonable. The Oxtail soup was delicious tasted like it was cooked for hours. Grilled sea bass was excellent with crispy skin and moist meat. All the servers were very pleasant when providing great service. It was a great dining experience .

Recommended dishes: Fish of the Day
This was one of our best meals in recent memory. We shared the fried calamari, fried yucca, carne asada, and fish of the day (sea bass). This was way too much food for two people, but everything was delicious. The fish was so beautifully fried and each plate came with totally different sides that complemented the proteins perfectly. I also had the chia lemonade to drink and it was lovely. My one regret is that I was way too uncomfortably full to have flan, which Is my favourite dessert. Next time!

Humiliating Experience
Treated Like Trash
I’ve been a regular here for a long time, always polite, respectful, and generous even tipped 25% today. But what happened was absolutely disgraceful.
Right after we paid, the waitress came up and told us we had to leave because “people were waiting” even though there were empty tables everywhere.
Then another waitress repeated it, and when I asked, “So you’re basically kicking us out?” she said “yes” without hesitation. My friend was so upset he walked out.
Even the owner stood there silently, watching the whole thing like it was normal. No apology, no respect.
I left feeling humiliated and disrespected.
After all the times I’ve supported this place, they treated me like I didn’t matter.
No basic decency. No hospitality. Never again.
I visited for the first time this week with a friend who has been raving about this place for months and I can say now even with her highest praise it was even better than she described. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming we were sat within 3 minutes of walking in and had waitstaff at our table almost as soon as we sat down. They have an extensive menu with daily specials which the waitstaff explained very thoroughly which I appreciated as a first time visitor. The food came quickly and was made with the freshest ingredients. It was so delicious I bought more to take home just so my boyfriend could try it. The avocado salad is not to be missed- I would go there just for the salad alone and it was a side! The chicken, rice, and plantains that I had were so flavorful I kept eating long past being full (potion sizes are very generous) because it was just THAT GOOD. Prices were super reasonable for the quality and size of meals. I will absolutely be back and telling everyone I know how awesome this place is!

Restaurantji Recommends
This is the place for an amazing meal! Not only was the food great but so was the atmosphere and the staff. The food is comforting and the environment was so comfortable.
The cocoa milk is a must try, the avocado salad was fresh and the chicken was perfectly cooked.

Cute place to try some awesome food. I’ve never had Nicaraguan cuisine before. I really enjoyed my meal (Carne Asada). The portion size was very good and all the food was very tasty, the meat was nice and tender. I will definitely come back next time I’m in the neighbourhood.

⚠️ BE AWARE CUSTOMERS WHEN ORDERING ⚠️
Terrible Customer Service & Dishonest Practices
I’ve been a loyal customer for over 15 years, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Extremely disappointed in Manager Vere, who was completely unaware of how her own take-out system works — shocking for a manager. Super rude and not knowledgeable.
I accidentally placed a double order because the first one didn’t appear on Uber Eats app or I didn’t get a text or notification right away. Placed another order and noticed there was 2 of the same order. Within one minute, I realized the mistake and immediately called the restaurant (Bella Managua). They told me they couldn’t cancel or refund — which is completely false. I’ve worked in restaurants before, and I know any merchant can cancel directly through the Uber Eats merchant app before accepting the order.
I called back again and was told the same thing — that I had to “go through Uber.” Uber support later confirmed that the restaurant can cancel before food prep begins. A short while later, the manager called back claiming they “couldn’t cancel because the chef said so” and that “they would get charged if they cancelled.” Crazy ! When we cancel the resturant will still get a cut they have to pay them anyways. they are claiming they won’t make any money from it. Bullshit they do takes a cut once an order is completed.
I gave enough notice — the order was placed at 7:30 PM and I called at 7:31 PM. They told me the food was already made in five minutes, which is impossible for such a large order (and if it were true, it would raise questions about authenticity).
In the end, I was charged full price for both orders, even though I caught the error immediately and followed all proper steps. Neither Uber nor the restaurant took accountability.
The customer service was rude, dismissive, and the food quality has noticeably declined — the cerdo con yuca was honestly inedible.
🚫 Be very careful before ordering from Bella Managua. They don’t value long-term customers and clearly prioritize profit over honesty or service.
