This has been a favourite Mexican place of mine for years, but I haven't been in a long time. Was surprised to see how high the prices have gotten, but I still ordered two chilaca tacos for a total of $18.08 with tax, so basically $8+tax per taco (ouch)! You need at least 2 to feel not hungry (3 to feel full, but I'm not paying $27 for street food!). They were stuffed full (too full that it was super messy and hard to eat, though the filling was tasty enough) and they seem to use flour tortillas now instead of corn which was super disappointing. Also the tortillas got very soggy and gross since that's what happens with flour tortillas with wet fillings. I don't know if I'd buy these again unfortunately, mainly because these were not worth the high price. These are table service restaurant prices. It was very pricey for some soggy tacos on bland flour tortillas at a hole-in-the-wall street food place. I also miss the days when they had a salsa station and you could scoop your own but you can't do that now, and the salsa they put on mine wasn't good like the many types they had before. There are more tables now in the back to sit down, but they're always dirty (this isn't this stall's fault but the owner of this little street food hall).

Edit: I walked by on my way out and saw a bag of corn tortillas at the counter so I'm not sure why they used flour ones for me. :(

Delicious quesadilla, cold jarritos, and a patio out back! The booth operator was friendly and our food came fast. It was about $22 for lunch, but with such ample servings, you're going to get leftovers too.

Ordered tacos. Hot and juicy. Costed up to 14 cad. Just enough, to share a piece with each.

Very small stand inside the Latino food court, but the food here is amazing and the employees are so nice. The tacos with cheese taste so good and the chilaquiles are amazing. We got the chilaquiles with chicken and another order with plantain and both were an explosion of flavour. Cannot reccomend this place enough.

Inside this nook there are actually 3 restaurants including: la chilaca, birria catrina and a third that despite being the most memorable, their name slips my memory. Maybe because their tacos were so awesome. Anyways, I got surtado tacos from the place whos name omits itself from recall but they blew me away. I have been obsessed with finding surtado which I assume is a mix of beef including all the grisly bits (best parts) since watching a particular bourdain video in Guadalajara. The meat was so succulent and tender, it was the single best taco I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Service was also very accomodating, they allowed me to come back for more roasted peppers and salsa roja as I wished. Thank you for providing my friends and I a great dining experience before one of them departed back to America! Will definitely come back and I must recommend.

Good price and very flavourful. Nice ripe pineapple on the pastor.

Very simple and delicious! On site or to take away to taste in the twists and turns of this large market. The tacos and enchiladas are excellent. Ideal for trying Mexican cuisine and for more delicate tongues, you can ask for fewer chili peppers (or none at all depending on the dish). We even had a live band to complete the atmosphere!

I was recommended the tacos at La Chilaca and went in with high hopes. The service was great! We ordered 3 tacos each and some chips and guacamole to share. However, anything that was cooked in oil- the chips, the tortillas used for the tacos, and all the meat tasted of rancid, old oil. It was so disappointing. The chips were super stale and inedible. I ordered steak, carnitas, and fish. The carnitas (aside from tasting rancid) was also soggy. The guacamole was surprisingly tasty! We sat in the patio in the back and the tables were not clean. I can’t imagine giving this place another chance.

This was a little difficult to find, as soon as you walk in the door there are four different stalls selling extremely similar items. Don't fall for the aggressive sales pitches, go to the stall in the back and to the right. We had the pastor's, and couldn't have been happier. Juicy meat, fresh pineapple, double layered corn tortilla - yum.I dropped one point from the "atmosphere" only because there is nowhere to eat. Normally this isn't an issue, but this is a messy meal - if you're a troglodyte like me, your hands and face will be covered with taco shrapnel at the end of it - and the provided napkins weren't up to the task.Solve the problem by bringing some wet naps with you and you'll be much better off than I was. With that said - Don't let the last point dissuade you from going, this is my new favourite taco spot in the city - I'll be back every time I'm in the neighbourhood.

We had tamale and vegetarian Yucateco panucho at Ko’ox Hana. I was very rich. And I was truly a taste of Yucateco ♥️
