Food is terrible and overpriced
Great experience, friendly service, best table in town, it reminded us of our Spanish vacation both in taste and in service. The cherry on the Sunday was the typical Spanish experience. Muchos gracias to the La Paella team!

PHENOMENAL!!!!! food here does not miss. for apps, we ordered shrimps, mushrooms and octopus for appetizers and each dish was perfectly cooked and plated well. the octopus was grilled to perfection: tender and not overcooked. mushrooms were flavourful and texture was also perfect. the sauce for the shrimp was scrumptious; definitely get an order of bread (and it comes served warmed and toasted!) to dip up the sauce.
seafood paella was generous in the portion of seafood and so flavourful. excellent seafood flavours that didn’t overwhelm. pork belly paella was also excellent: rich flavours and the pork belly was crisp to perfection.
tasty wine and drinks and the basque cheesecake finisher was excellent. super soft, melt-in-your-mouth cheesecake with some kind of very faint orange brandy aroma.
the restaurant atmosphere is nice and cozy; patio wasn’t open today but previously had been in there once and loved the vibe. decor is unique and i loved the trivets that are made up of different coasters!!
service was phenomenal. shout out to our server tonight (Sun Nov 23, 2025) who was attentive to every detail throughout the meal (even replacing our little lamp on the table mid-meal when it ran out of battery), and was approachable and friendly.
what a lovely neighbourhood gem!

For the price, I found the food disappointing. Nothing is wrong with it, but nothing was worth what I paid. Frozen peas, canned green beans (I suspect). The meat on the ribs were tough, some of the butter beans were dry and undercooked. Pork belly fat was rendered, but the meat was tough and dry. The seasoning and the rice were delicious though; well cooked rice and really delicious seasoning. There were good elements here for sure but I wonder if it's a place in decline cutting corners and charging older, higher prices to stay afloat.
If the prices were lower this would be closer to cheap and cheerful and delicious but if you're going to charge $80 for a 2 person paella that meat should be tender and delicious and every ingredient should be irresistible.
Friendly service, clean bathrooms, good wine, but it's so hard to see past that price to quality ratio.

What a lovely atmosphere, classy restaurant and very sweet patio. The paella was fantastic, as was the sangria. We also ordered the bacon-wrapped dates and can highly recommend!! Definitely pricy but worth it for the good vibe and wonderful food

Overall it was great, calamari was very delicious. But compare to the price Paella could be better I think but it can be personal taste. Very good vibe and service.

This authentic Spanish Restaurant is wonderful ... from the get go. Hospitality, Sangria, Cocktails, Wine and what can I say about the food ... priceless ... gal pal night out was another memorable time together ... thank you La Paella in Leslieville ... see you again very soon Bonus heated patio takes this great dining experience into the fall.
The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly accommodating! They took our allergies into account and when we had to switch to takeout last minute, they went above and beyond to pack everything up (even though they don’t usually do takeout). Such kind people, 10/10 food
