Excellent ! At least a true French restaurant....like in France. The salade was perfect (right size, french recipe, fresh ingredients). The service was great also, professional and friendly. I really enjoyed the experience and will come back again.
Really bad experience. Asked to sit for drink and they denied. Second later they accepted people who were WHITE. After denying us and saying there’s no tables available…. Crazy. Nothing was said about reservations and the people who sat said they didn’t make one
I had the best vegetarian Lasagna and chickpea fries of my life! Me & my partner were running late by 10 min for our dinner reservation at Le Baratin, but the staff is so nice & generous enough to accommodate us even though the kitchen was closing.
We were the last one to leave the restaurant but they never rushed us and made sure that we enjoy our dinner date.
This would be our go to spot now for more dinner dates!
Great intimate atmosphere. Food was amazing and menu constantly changes so always something new. Friendly staff as well
Everything about our night here was amazing! The food was truly an experience. We already knew how good the steak frites would be, but the escargot special was unforgettable. The service made our birthday celebration really special.
10/10, last meals/service I’ve had here in the past year have all been especially exceptional, one of the best restaurants in the city
An excellent meal and well worth the price! One of my favourites in the city. Thank you Chef Jean-Régis!
10/10 would go here again
Total shambles. The sweetbread tasted like a shoe sole, and the rest of the food wasn’t much better. The staff were rude, the owner was a grade-A knob, and the toilets? Looked like a crime scene. Honestly, I'd rather eat a microwave meal at home than suffer through this dump again...
Consistent quality in food and service. Intimate and comfortable setting. Great neighbourhood vibes

Great service, great food and good ambiance. Could not ask more from a neighbourhood restaurant. Classic French food done right.
We wanted to try a lot of their wonderful looking food, but after dinner could only try their amazing Mousse.
A great example of a really well executed casual French bistro.
From the food to the service to the setting and ambiance.
Came in for steak frites on a Wednesday (their steak frites special is tremendous value) and enjoyed a wonderful evening.
Steak was perfectly seasoned and came out medium rare as ordered. The frites were crispy and the shallot sauce was rich and paired well with the frites. Paired with some bubbly it was steak frites bliss.
Warm service that strikes the perfect balance between checking in on you as needed while not interrupting your meal.
Great to have such a gem of a restaurant in Toronto.
We visited Le Baratin to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had such a great experience. We did the 3-course meal and were really impressed with the quality of the food. Everything from the appetizer to dessert was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The steak especially stood out and was honestly one of the best I’ve had. I asked for mine medium-well, my friend wanted medium, and both were cooked perfectly. The two gentlemen serving us were kind, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Highly recommend!
Excellent french cuisine. Excellent cocktails. Very nice atmosphere
