I went in really hungry after a long day of work thinking I could grab a bite to eat and a couple of cold ones. Was very disappointed when I learned that there were no hamburgers. They do have popcorn but I did happen to have some extra ground beef from groceries earlier in the day. I asked if they could cut it up and add it to the popcorn for something more substantial. They refused. I will* (right now) be back.

Could this be the best bar in Toronto? I’m leaning towards YES!!
Dark, cheap, friendly weirdos. This bar does what bars are supposed to do. LOVE.
Best vibe here

A cool place to have a drink that's not that loud that you can't chat with friends.

Had a very upsetting incident with one of the bartenders, management didn’t seem to care. He had been doing shots the whole time we were there which is not standard practice as far as I know. Surprised anyone can speak to a customer like this these days. Won’t be returning.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review about our once-beloved local bar. Unfortunately, it seems to have lost its charm and community spirit, becoming a venue primarily for the owner's friends rather than a welcoming spot for all.
Last night, after a Leafs game, I decided to take my client there for a drink. To our disappointment, we received no service. My client stood at the bar for a full ten minutes without being acknowledged, eventually returning to our table.
We waited for another five minutes, hoping for some attention, but it became clear that this bar was no longer the neighborhood gem it once was.
When it was known as Gaslight, the bar had a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and was an integral part of the community. Sadly, it has now become just another bar in Toronto, lacking the unique character and sense of belonging it once offered.
I sincerely hope that we will soon have a new bar in the neighborhood that truly understands and values the essence of community. Until then, we wait.
