BY FAR the best bagel I’ve ever eaten! Fresh lox, smoked in-house and I love the “Lev’s Bagel” that has dill-pickle chips in it!! Lev and the folks at Lox and Schmear are so kind, hilarious, and a wonderful beacon in our community, AND it’s a very Queer-friendly space!!! We love them!!!!!

Ever since I’ve had Lev’s house smoked lox, I’ve been spoiled for life and cannot get it from anywhere else. I love all the flavours- regular, lemon pepper and pastrami!! So fresh and delicious, especially in one of bagel sandwiches (thank you Lev, you’re a genius for offering CHIPS inside a sandwich!!). But that’s not all! Do yourself a favour and grab a black and white cookie or any of the rotating baked goods that Lev also makes in-house and you can have your savoury and sweets. Super neighbourhood spot to eat inside, take to the park, or take home.

My fave place to buy lox (they even make a pastrami lox, wow), have a solid bagel sandwich, and chat with a local St. Clair West celebrity!
Fish is smoked in small batches, the whole process is done in house and you can really taste that quality and care in the product.
You just know Lev is mindful of ensuring quality throughout every ingredient used in the shop, through their passion for only having tomatoes on the menu when they're in season. No bland, disappointing tomatoes found here.
Maybe unexpected for a bagel and lox spot, but Lev also makes really great little cakes and cookies. Once I had a blueberry buttermilk doughnut that I still can't forget about, it was unbelievable fluffy.
There's also a new slush machine, the Orange Creamsicle one was so good – the flavours do rotate!
Gluten-free bagels are available, as well as a vegan option (no fish on that one of course haha).

Stopped in on Friday before their weekend close (which was clearly posted on their socials), got one Lev’s bagel and another bagel with dairy free cream cheese. The dairy free cream cheese was great and fresh dill was a nice touch, and my partners review of Lev’s bagel: “best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had.”

Wow, just absolutely wow. I heard great things about this place. but I had absolutely no idea how amazing the food was until I tried them for the very first time today.
Nestled along trendy hipster St. Clair Avenue West lies a very cute and welcoming place call Lox & Schmear and they are serving up some of the best bagels, cream cheese, capers, pickled onions, to elevate the star of the show the great SALMON!
Once you walk into Lox & Schmear, you are immediately hit with this sweet smokey aroma.
I ordered The Fancy Fancy because that's just what I am Fancy Fancy 🎭
The bagel was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside The cream cheese, along with the capers, tomato, cucumber, pickled red onion, alfalfa to give it that extra unique crunch, fresh dill that accompanied the lox was an explosion of great flavors!
The lox is so sweet and smoking at the same time.
Yum! It was probably one of the best things I've ever eaten!
So, if you're in the neighborhood, you have to give this place a try. Such friendly and inviting staff!

I got the fancy fancy on an everything bagel. Despite getting an everything bagel, I didn’t get a lot of poppy seeds. The thing that really struck me was how juicy all the fillings made the bagel. They were all delicious. However, with the amount… the bagel unfortunately didn’t really hold up as it was too small and toasted to hold everything in. Still a pretty good bagel, though.
