Their seeded sourdough bread is very fresh and yummy. All it needs is some olive oil or salted butter.

Not Smashing IT!
This bakery used to be so good years ago.
It appears they may just be going downhill and in a very bad way as well.
The products may look appealing, but once you bite into them, you'll realize immediately that the taste and quality just isnt there.
And they're very expensive as well.
I used to always buy the Sour Dough Bread. And it used to be so good!
Yesterday, I purchased the Sour Dough Bread, and it just didn't have that same flare and zippiness to it that it used to. It also looks a lot smaller. For $7.99, that's a ridiculous price to be charging considering the lack of quality.
I also bought this Cinnamon Loaf. It looked so good sitting there on top of the showcase! But it cost a ridiculous $8.99, but i thought hey way not give it a try they clearly can't muck up a cinnamon loaf, now can they? Oh yes, they can
Yikes.
When I got home and dived my teeth into the cinnamon loaf to my great sadness, it was extremely dense and dry. It lacked sweetness, and I didn't even taste any cinnamon. It wasn't fresh either, which really upsets me. I could have used it as a door stopper come to think of it ?
Listen, if you're going to call yourself a bakery and you're going to charge the prices that you charge, you better be using good quality ingredients, and those products better be fresh. Very fresh. Not day old.
So, all in all, I spent $18 bucks on not very good quality products.
It's too bad because this bakery was really good one time, but what you see just doesn't deliver when you give the food a taste.
Two years ago, I bought their homemade strawberry jam, and when I got home, it was pure water. I knew right then and there that this bakery, in my opinion, was tanking.
So yesterday, when I decided to give them another try, I realized immediately that it looks like nothing has changed since that strawberry jam incident of two years ago ?
The quality of the food is dull, not very flavorful, and way WAY too overpriced.

Have gone a few times I’ve tried numerous treats. The only good things are the cookies and a mediocre cinnamon bun. Everything is way OVERPRICED and has a weird taste looks good but everything beside the cookies have a weird taste. I got the small cherry pie the crust was so hard it was like wood with an overfilled center which was good but the crust was so weird, I’ve had organic pies from local farms all over the place for half the price and is 100x fresher and tastier how can a small little farm make your 35$ pie look bad. I would genuinely rather a pie from Walmart than here.

I can't believe the prices on most of their items—it's ludicrous! For example, $30 for a peach pie, really?! Even if it were organic (which most of the ingredients aren't), it's still too much. I don't think this business will last long. I don't understand why Mama Earth Deliveries keeps stocking their items in their store, especially since most of it isn't organic and the prices are astronomically high.

Best bakery in Toronto
We bought 2 scones and a muffin yesterday and they were so dry Hardly eatable! Service was not welcoming.
I love to support local stores and I’ve been to Mabel’s many times over the years and the staff are always friendly, but lately I’ve become disappointed with the food quality and insane price hikes. 6 hot cross buns for $21.99 and they had a weird gasoline type taste to them. Come on guys…look at the competition who are similar to you like Cobbs. They priced 6 at $10.99. That is HALF of what you are charging and theirs were tastier too. I say this from a place of wanting you to succeed in the neighbourhood and not go under due to the prices going up and the quality going down.

Seems ya just can't get away with shouting at a customer in a store you work at anymore!I wanted to get a baguette and acroos the street of my newly aquirred apartment I saw Mabels.I saw that they had half size bagettes that looked a little hard but since it was only 1PM and I figured they couldn't be stale already.I was wrong!Dense and hard sourdough dough and a rock hard crust! They were in wtithin reach near the entrance so I took the one I wanted.Suddendly from somewhere I heard an extremely loud and aggressive ''Could you please not touch the bread and let us get it for you!?!?''It was embarrasing since the store was full of people.I brought the loaf to the front as he (a rather tall and red in the face ginger-haired lad) said to me,''Well since you've already done it...'').In the future,a sign might work better than bellowing at the top of your lungs at a new customer!!!I won't be going back.Oh yeah and price of the stale bread...5$ +tax!!!

So glad I discovered this place via Too good to go. Mabel's Bakery & Specialty Foods gave a generous bag well worth the money and my family enjoyed everything. My favourite was the almond croissant
Went there one afternoon and the staff seemed short and gave us a weird look while we’re looking around. I’m not sure if they’re tired and aloof but they didn’t say hello nor acknowledged us making the experience a bit awkward. I did get the baby cheesecake and it’s good, I just wished that the staff will also make guests feel that we wanted to go back and enjoy but again, I wasn’t the experience we had.
