Came here for a quick lunch with my daughter and was not disappointed. It was very tasty and everything came out quickly. Will try this again for one of the hotpots next time. Couldn’t do it this time because it was a heat warning that day!
Food was visually appealing but not as good as they looked. I had the pork belly rice bowl and the pork was not very flavourful. I did like the pickled vegetables that came with the dish. Price is reasonable considering its downtown location.
Decor was nice and reminiscent of Taiwan. Service was a bit aloof. Our water wasn’t even refilled.
Beautiful atmosphere and amazing service, cultural interior design, will come back again to get the Taiwan mini hotpot!
I was craving for Taiwanese food. My frd recommended this place and we went there for my favorite - Taiwanese Pork Rice. We also ordered a popcorn chicken.
Both items were very good. The popcorn chicken is crispy and flavorful. The meat is not dry and super tender. The pork rice reminds me of Taiwan. They gave a whole egg instead of just half. I would be happier if they can be more generous about the pork. More veggies would also make the meal healthier.
Can’t comment much on the service. The server did ask if we were doing okay, but other than that, I didn’t see a lot of service. The price is reasonable, but it’s not super cheap.
I will be back for sure.
Went here for dinner. They don't take reservations. But they were nice to let us knw that they had room. They ask for 'online' ordering while in the restaurant - which for some might b cool but it takes away from the experience for me. Also staff usually avoids looking in your way for fear that you may ask a question.
We ordered a bowl of sausage, beef n rice and a 'make your own pancake'.
The beef wasn't good, the sausage was nice, and the pancake was almost inedible.
Understandable that it was make ur own pancake, but shouldn't there be some cohesive choices. I added garlic to mine and i swear there were blobs of minced garlic so much that i couldn't bear it, and i am Indian. It was lacking flavor since they decided to serve the sauce on the side but its not rolled tight enough to dunk. The worst part - so oily it was dripping. I was hungry so i ate some but it was horrible
Hands down, my favorite place in Toronto. I love this place. I wish I could visit it more often cause I live in Oshawa. Highly recommend it to anyone, especially to people who like Asian food. Best restaurant I have ever eaten at
Loved my experience at Mabu Generation! On Yonge close to Wellesley subway station, this little gem of a restaurant is so interesting in its aesthetic and the food was delicious!
We ordered from the lunch menu and was not disappointed! Featured in the images are their popcorn chicken lunch menu and grandmas secret instant noodle (can't remember the exact name but it's the only one tagged with grandma).
Each lunch combo came with a side and a choice of drink and a little dessert.
The chicken was crunchy, savory with that signature Taiwanese 5 spice flavour but not too salty.
The noodles were so much fun to eat and so tasty. If you like seafood, you'll love this dish. I had no idea I'd get clams, fish balls, surimi crab and more. Also had pork, tofu, and spam. I felt like I was discovering something new in my bowl. Broth was savory and soothing.
Also loved the side tomato and egg, a classic pairing! Such an easy eat but I feel like the sides might change depending on when you go.
Dessert was so good! Light with a dusting of crushed cookies on top. Don't know the name of the dish but reminds me of milky rabbit candy.
Drinks - variety to choose from, hot or cold, we got the cold honey black tea, boba is an extra charge. Yummy!
Totally worth the $20 per person!
The food here is amazing -flavorful, fresh, and definitely worth coming for. But the service really needs improvement. Staff seemed uninterested and slow to respond, which took away from the overall experience. Great food, but don’t expect much from the service.
Ordered an entree and was absolutely disappointed with how small the portion is. $15 for something so small is shameful. I don't mind paying more for things as I understand how things have gotten more costly but to use a small bowl that's tapered to a cone and portion size is so small where I'm still hungry after spending $25.
Bathrooms needs more attention and better hygiene needed for table cleaning and overall cleanliness.

Nice restaurant and food but it’s def overpriced
Restaurantji Recommends
This place gets quite packed on weekends, and since it’s not a huge restaurant, try to avoid peak dining times (they dont take resos). All the food we got was very enjoyable and good to share. My favourite was their Sukiyaki Hotpot. Many people, including us, see their dessert honey cube towers and are tempted to order it. While my entite group agreed it looks better than it tastes, I still enjoyed it. Worth a try!

I had a positive experience at their Markham location, where the food and dining atmosphere were great. I was hoping for a similar experience at their Yonge location, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. We ordered the Spicy Numbing Soup, and shortly after, experienced food poisoning. When we called the restaurant, no one took responsibility. Instead, they insisted the food was prepared correctly and suggested that perhaps we couldn’t handle the spice. As people of Asian descent who are accustomed to spicy food, this explanation felt dismissive. They also emphasized that all their ingredients were fresh and cooking standards were followed. It took quite a while to convince them to issue a refund. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience at this location. I would recommend trying different dishes if you visit, but my main advice is that the restaurant should handle customer concerns with more understanding and not reject their faults so confidently.

Food was okay but poor service. Rushing me out within 1 hour and there was no waiting. Disappointed!

Wanted to go but when I went inside it smelled so bad I had to leave
Very popular. I was lucky and went after peak dinner time. Was still busy then.
I fancied something spicy so ordered the House special mini hotpot. There is meat, seafood, tofu, vegetables, and some instant ramen to soak up the flavors in the spicy soup at the end. I went for the regular spice level. I could feel the sweat bead on my face, but I enjoyed it!
The dish is kept bubbling with what I think is paraffin jelly. It does burn fast, and I had to ask for more to keep the hotpot going. They tipped it up and relit it quickly, so my meal wasn't interrupted.
Will come back and try one of the sizzling hot plate meals. Everyone else seemed to have one, so can't be bad!
