We’re charging more than $10 for half a falafel sandwich that’s super mediocre... really?

Cute little sister cafe and the cardamom latte and falafels for a snack really hit the spot today. Thank you.

We arrived at the Cafe and the waitress (Maria) said to go grab a seat outside and she'll be there to take our order. 15 mins passed and there is still no sign of her. No water, no menu, no one to take our order. No problem, we went to the counter to place our order instead and my partner grabbed the water and cups. She came by a bit later to talk to the table next to us and did not acknowledge us at all and just went back inside, did not introduce herself or apologize for the lack of service. She later brought the food and utensils, food was great. She also did not come to check on us once (inside was less busy at this point).
We finished our food and wanted to get the bill. Same story, waited 15 mins but no one came, so my partner went inside and asked for a box and the bill and I went to the restroom. Obviously with the lack of service, he decided not to tip. He asked for a box for both the sandwich and the leftover sauce and hummus. She returned with a bag and asked if he wanted containers for the sauce, and he said yes. She said she'd be back with that and took all the plates away. She never came back out. I returned from the bathroom and saw that she still hasn't returned so I decided to go ask about it. She lied and claimed that my partner stacked all the plates so she assumed we didn't want the leftover hummus. I assume this is a retaliation for us not tipping. Food again was great, but such a shame that the service was terrible. We won't be back.

One of the still mostly hidden gems of the Leslieville neighbourhood is this cafe edition of the popular brunch spot Maha’s. with a smaller menu that’s more grab and go style, and a cute ambiance it’s a great place for a quick weekday or weekend stop for a coffee and a quick bite. We had the Betengan, a truly delicious eggplant, beet and hummus sandwich and the Lahma Barda aka the roast beef sandwich. The eggplant was served warm and the roast beef was served cold. Would definitely recommended the eggplant with its dreamy cumin flavours, the roast beef I’d skip to try some of the other offerings. You also got yummy Sam James coffee served here so you can’t go wrong with the coffee!

A true gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re met with the warmest and sweetest smiles. The food is crazy good! Everything we tried was delicious so you really can’t go wrong, but I would say, don’t miss out on the Foul. Yum!

We drove half an hour to try Maha’s after seeing a glowing review online and it was well worth it! Every plate we tried was absolutely delicious, and the mocha latte and the cardamom latte were also standouts! We even ordered extra falafel and dessert to take home. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the high quality of the food. I do wish the alternative milks for the lattes weren’t an additional dollar for those of us that are lactose intolerant. But that’s a very small note, besides that everything was perfect! Huge recommend if you’re in the area (or even if you aren’t the trek is well worth it)!

I went to Maha's cafe last Sunday with a friend. We had a tea and a flat white. They were great, we loved the flat white. The cafe itself was cozy. All those little decors were cute. The employees were nice and sweet, ofc. The only problem I had was their AC. I am not sure if it was set on low or just not working, it was pretty hot inside.

I'm a frequent enjoyer of the location on Greenwood, which is easily my favourite brunch in the city. I've been to the cafe a number of times, and I am happy to say that it is just as great. The food is exemplary, with the newish additions to the menu are a particular standout. My favourite thing is that I feel taken care of here. The warmth, the care with which things are created and served and the inviting atmosphere I consistently experience at Maha's is something I feel has disappeared from a lot of restaurants in Toronto, so it is refreshing to see the emphasis on hospitality here in this unique and beautiful place. They've found a customer for life in me for sure.
