The first bite feels as if Mexican angels took you to Mexican heaven. The last bite makes you cry coz you don’t want it to end. Needed a shot of mezcal to get back to reality

Ordered delivery from here one night during a Mexican food craving... One big pro is that they have a spiced chick pea filling blend that they can put in most of their dishes to make it vegetarian, and this filling was super tasty! I had the arepa and it was quite good, although a bit heavy on the grease. The cons being that the dishes are pricey for the portion size, and I'm super confused about the chips and guac situation. I paid extra for guac, and received a plethora of dips, but none looked like guac. The salsa had a strange flavour that I didn't enjoy, but the watery green dip and mystery garlic dip were both delicious with the homemade chips. But where was the guac? Was it the watery green dip? Unclear! At least the chips were tasty!

Love their stuffed arepas and the tacos! Good service. Also, the aroma of the arepas and beans when walking by is the best!

I was very disappointed this time around to have gotten pick up fish tacos only to see that they are frozen fish sticks!!. You'll notice the size and shape in the pic are identical. For $20 I think that this is insane. Very disappointing to say the least.

Craft beer was delicious. Tacos were ok, but not worth for $18 in my opinion. The patio area is on the street so it can be a bit annoying.

Service and restaurant was great. Food presentation was excellent but the food itself was not unfortunately. Food tasted like it was not seasoned enough. Ordered three mains that were all identical in flavour. The nachos were good but didn’t really understand the use of a house salad with it. The salad also had no dressing and we were charged extra when asked for it which was not told to us. Overall disappointing experience. There seems to be a lot of positive reviews here though so perhaps I came on a bad day.

I'm not a picky girl- I see taco's, I eat. First time trying Maiz after living in this negbourhood for 3 years, and I'm just sorry I waited this long.Cheese sticks are to DIE for. Like mozza sticks, but better. I'm not a fan of deep fried cheese but the chewy/crispy outer dough layer with the super stretchy cheesey inside is perfection. Comes with a garlic green chilli dip.*Pro-Tip- save any of the leftover dip for your tacos and thank me later.Ordered the beef and chorizo tacos. All come in an order of 3 on soft corn tortillas. You can mix and match protein options for an extra charge but its definagetely worth it. Beef was super tender but thr chirizo was my favourite. Packs a punch of flavour with each bite. The hot sauce that comes with the tacos just makes them that much better.I hear good things about the arepas (which were on special the day I came in) and the pictures on Instagram look super promising so I'll give them a try next time!Staff is super friendly and attentive. I will be returning for those arepas mmm?

Wildly overpriced! I thought the menu was overpriced when I first saw it, but was hoping that the portion-size/authenticity of ingredients would make up for it-I was wrong for both. Felt hungry and ripped off upon leaving. Very disappointed! I also feel sorry for those that have given it such a high rating -either you’re missing out on actual amazing Mexican food or this place has gone way down from before, but all the other lower-stared reviews seem to echo mine!

Excellent tacos! Quite possibly the biggest fish tacos in the city! Carnitas were delicious too. Stellar service, our server Angela was very attentive, especially with it being a rainy day on the patio. Would definitely recommend Maiz to all the Toronto taco lovers out there!!

One of my favorite places to get nachos. They have amazing food and take away margaritas. I personally have to water my margaritas down but I sure it would also be great in a blender with ice.

The place is an absolute blast! The food is delicious, their craft beer is really good, and super friendly staff! Awesome place to spent your time and money and get a great dinner in return! Will certainly come back for that churros! ;)

Went there for lunch today and I won't be back. I ordered a burrito and there was only rice and beans and dry pieces of chicken inside. Nothing tasted seasoned. Would not recommend, especially for the inflated price.EDIT: Google is a public platform and my opinion is valid for a review. There are others on here that gave less than five stars so I'm not sure why I am being singled out by the owner but to each their own. I said what I said.

This was shockingly bad. The tacos were over priced, lacked flavour and the pulled pork tacos were incredibly dry. We were so disappointed. I’m sorry, but you can get a better burrito at Burrito Boys for half the price.EDIT - My review is honest and it may not be what you wanted to hear but this is the purpose of google reviews. I did not enjoy my experience but I wouldn’t have told the waitress because I don’t believe in wasting food.
