Tried a few dishes here and overall had a nice experience. The chicken momo tasted amazing and the filling was great, but the skin was quite thick. The peanut jhol was good, just a little salty. The pork sekuwa was the highlight — honestly the best I’ve had so far. The chicken chowmein tasted really good and wasn’t oily, but it ended up being quite spicy even though we asked for it not to be. Our server Saksham (the bill had his name)even came to apologize, which I appreciated. The mango lassi was good and not overly sweet. Finished with a scoop of ice cream

I’ve tried a number of Nepali restaurants in Toronto, and Mantra is the only place I keep coming back to. Have been to the restaurant a number of times and also ordered in, every experience has been amazing. The buff chili is hands down the best and most authentic I’ve had. The chyaang (Nepali rice wine) is pretty good too, and the live music is a great added bonus.
My favorites so far are the Nepali-style chicken chowmein, buff chili (for sure!), and jhol momo. The staff are amazing, super friendly, warm, and accommodating, which really makes the whole experience even better. Perfect spot to go with family or friends for a good time and great food.

I had Nepalese food for the first time. It was a new experience, and the atmosphere was great. The live bar was really cool. The food was varied, so I'll definitely try it again next time.

Visited last night for dinner. While the ambience and live Nepali music were enjoyable, the food quality was highly disappointing.
We ordered Samaya Baji set, Sukuti Sadeko, and Mixed Bara. Every dish was excessively salty. The bara was deep-fried, burnt, and bitter. We returned it and requested a replacement, which took more than an hour to arrive, only to receive another poorly prepared version.
Taking over an hour to remake a basic menu item is unacceptable. If your kitchen is unable to prepare bara to a proper standard, it should not be listed on the menu. Customers are paying for quality and consistency, not to experience ongoing kitchen shortcomings.
You have built a good atmosphere and customer base, but inconsistent food quality will seriously damage your reputation if not addressed immediately. Customer experience should be treated with far greater responsibility and professionalism.

If only i could give less than 1 star, i would do that. We waited for almost 30 mins or more i know it was a busy day, but we were waiting this whole time and you guys gave the table to someone who came after us, and don’t tell me it was reserved or something as you guys clearly don’t do reservations. I don’t know what was wrong at that moment but you guys were so unfair, totally ruined our moment. Also its not like we didn’t communicate we talked to all 3 servers and they were like, yes we know you guys came early we’ll let you know and then took another person who arrived after us. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Food ya place ko impression bhako bhaye i would have given thought for another visit, but this unfair treatment without reason is so not done at all. Not even worth wasting my time review diyera but just wanted to let you guys know.

I tried buff meat for the first time and 😅 maybe it'll be my last. It was just too chewy for me. The newari set was loaded and the spices were balanced.
The momo was good but but due to rush hours it was served cold to us.
The staff was rushing due to us being there at closing hours so it was understandable but it was off-putting.

I recently tried a Chicken Khaja Set for the first time, and it was absolutely outstanding! It was also my first experience with Nepali cuisine, and I can confidently say it was 100% worth it. Every item on the plate was flavorful and perfectly balanced — the chicken was tender and well-seasoned, the sides complemented it beautifully, and the overall presentation made the meal even more enjoyable. The mix of spices and textures was something new for me, yet incredibly comforting at the same time. This dish completely exceeded my expectations. If you haven’t tried a Chicken Khaja Set yet, it’s a definite must-try!

I went there with my friend last week, it was her first time trying Nepali food. Food was okayish but the service was literally bad. The servers don’t bother to check on you, they won’t hear if you call them. One server was busting doing meet and greet and chatting with her friends at one table but didn’t notice that we were calling. Had to go to the counter 3 times. For bill , takeout box and add on order. Wouldn’t visit again.

Food and service really stood out, I really enjoyed the ambience as well. Service was excellent despite of it being New Year’s Eve, hands down the best New Year’s Eve ever. Thank you to Tashi and his team.
