I visited Marcello's Market and Deli for the first time. Here's what I think:

First Impression - I expected Italian-inspired sandwiches and pizza amongst Deli items and I was surprised seeing all the different cuisines they had like Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, and even African. From soups, to a diverse selection of buffet items both warm and cold. I was a bit saddened because I felt that I will not get the kind of Italian sandwich I came here for because they are so focused on the multi cuisines.

I came here to get the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. Initially the woman asked me if I wanted it on a sourdough toast and let me tell you, I was so shocked. I said, isn't this supposed to be on a Ciabatta bread?

Though my expectations significantly lowered because of the experience, I was pleasantly surprised by how good of a sandwich this actually ended up being.

The provolone was perfectly melted, the contrast of sun dried tomatoes and artichokes gave the perfect level of acidity and tang, the Tuscan chicken was very well seasoned, and the lettuce was hydrated.

They added mayonnaise and chipotle, which I did not expect them to add but it ended up complementing the sandwich well.

If they had more experience with Italian food, it could have been better executed and elevated. The bread they used was quite dry, and they could have hydrated the bread or used a fresh loaf.

Overall, I am quite pleased with the sandwich but if you're expecting an authentic Italian market place or deli, or even authentic food, your best bet may be to go to a different place.

But, for a quick lunch and grabbing a to-go, if you're not too picky, this is VERY well worth the $13.

I'm a sucker for a good breakfast sandwich. A couple times a month I treat myself to their classic breakfast sandwich on a buttered everything bagel (with a touch of mayo). Is it fancy? No. Is it satisfying to high heaven? You bet it is! Chasing it all down with a chocolate milk is bliss.

Great food. Miss going to the 240 Sparks restaurant.

The food is bland and a bit overpriced for what you get, but the food is not too bad. I will probably not be returning to this location.

The restaurant boasts an excellent selection of salads, each one fresh, flavorful, and creatively prepared. The meals have a comforting, home-cooked feel that truly stands out.

Gives illusion of being a buffet. Is in fact not a buffet and not worth it.

I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap. Barely any lettuce which I had to ask for as I don't like spinach. Barely any dressing, very greasy bacon & chicken. Do not know apparently how to make this. Will not go back.
