Coffee is mediocre, pastries are pretty average, staff are incredible but for some reason this place attracts the worst of society - snobby, entitled individuals who just make you feel like you need to leave before you say something.
Dark chocolate yule log is delicious and the christmas decor is cute. will definitely order again next year.
Good place for enjoy hot drink and some sweet things , I like vibe and cappuccino
Beautiful French pastries and beverages.
Best brioche in Toronto
NYC Christmas Café Vibes in Toronto? 🎄☕️
Passing by The Marvellous Fred, I was pulled in by their beautiful pastry display. The space feels luxurious and feminine, with Christmas touches that gave me full NYC café vibes.
Order: Flat White (whole milk) – $4.60
Tasting Notes: Caramel scent, flat acidity, high sweetness, smooth, lingering sweet finish and caramel flavor.
Verdict: Not my favorite cup of coffee. The lack of complexity and high sweetness leaves room for improvement. Despite this, it pairs well with the desserts.
I generally am not a fan of meringue however, the texture and flavors on theirs are actually really nice! Tried the praline and dark chocolate. Flavor of praline was really delicious, but I preferred the lower sweetness level of the dark chocolate.
visited Aux Merveilleux de Fred today, and it was such a lovely experience! You can really see the hard work that goes into their bakery — everything is made fresh every day, and the quality shows. The customer service was warm and attentive, which made the visit even better.
The seating area is spacious and calm, and I loved how people were simply enjoying their food quietly, creating a peaceful atmosphere. I went for a pickup order because I love their chocolate chip brioche and plain brioche. The first time I tried them was on Teacher Appreciation Day, and ever since then they’ve become my absolute favorites. The taste even reminds me of the “double roti” from back home in India — soft, comforting, and nostalgic! 😅
Overall, a wonderful bakery with delicious products and a great vibe. Can’t wait to go back!
Pricy but good quality
Croissants were amazing. Tried the meringues too

A truly unique French bakery with amazing flavors. The meringue Marvelous cakes and pastries are absolutely delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. A must-try spot in Toronto, I highly recommended!
The chocolate chip brioche here is nice and fluffy. Nice space. Great place to stop by for a break if you're in the area.
They never disappoint… ever heard of a place where every single thing in the menú tastes amazing? This is the place! Been going there for over 5 years or so… always fresh, tasty and the service with a smile! No cheap, but so good I keep coming Back!
The best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had in Toronto ! (Deliciously buttery and so flakey/crispy on outside with the most delicious chocolate) and I’ve tried most if them in the downtown core and beyond. Service is always friendly and efficient too.
Good service, great cafe with authentic tasting pastries and coffee, it’s a great spot to catch up with friends or just to enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry by yourself. I really liked their latte, it has good créma too.
