Final meal for my Toronto trip was here.

Walked in was met with friendly staff, offering great recommendations, especially concerning the portions of food and the time/wait to cook it .

I ended up getting the double patty, burger, and a nice ale with fries .

You were able to sit and enjoy your meal and talk. The staff was incredibly kind.

No notes 10/10 experience

Bit overhyped I would say, Burgers aren't anything exceptional but decent. Worth trying if in the neighborhood but wouldn't be worth making an effort to get there just for the burgers.

Way too overpriced, but the burger ain't half bad. But this is definitely brand over substance.

Had a lovely dinner here. The food was great but the service was even better. I think her name was Isabel - she was attentive, friendly, and good with recommendations. Will be back! And would recommend :)

Really tiny space and uncomfortable chairs. The burger and fries were okay but definitely overpriced as it was mediocre. Service... i don't know.. i really didnt understand how the server couldnt spell one of the easiest girl names.

One of the worst burgers I've ever had. I don't understand what's the big deal about them. From someone that absolutely loves burgers, I don't recommend this place at all.

The burger was okay, unfortunately did not live up to the hype. The staff was very friendly but I could tell they were tired of people asking if Matty was in. Kind enough to give some stickers.

Great burgers, fries and onion rings! Matty sauce is so good! Totally worth a trip! Only thing that could have made it better is Matty himself being there!

Matty’s Patties sticks to a very stripped-down smashburger style — no lettuce or tomato on the menu. Normally that might bother some people, but I actually don’t mind it. The combo of cheese, mustard, pickles, and onions works well for me, and it lets the patty itself stand out. The burger has those crispy smash edges, good flavour, and that glossy cheese melt that ties everything together.

The fries were a pleasant surprise: generous portion, great seasoning, and a really satisfying crisp.

Overall, it’s a good burger spot. But in a city full of smashburger places, it doesn’t quite stand out enough to be memorable. Tasty, enjoyable, but not a game-changer.

Top smash burger in Toronto. Nice picnic table patio in the summer across from trinity bellwoods.

The burger was good, but not especially so. It was a worthwhile spot to grab a quick lunch, and the fries were really solid.

All in all it was worthwhile, but only just. I'd have been mad if I'd waited in a long line. The counter staff were super friendly though!
