Not a big fan of McDonalds food, but on this day 04/07/2024 we’re from Hamilton, ON and we were in Toronto, ON visiting my nephew who is staying at St. Joesph’s Hospital just down The Queensway from this McDonald’s restaurant, we wanted to try other restaurants, but wasn’t really none in that area. Ordered the custom Quarter Pounder with Cheese and fries Combo We all had the same, on this day it wasn’t relatively not that busy. Served quite quickly, grabbed a table and dined in. Restroom could use a little cleaning, overall, it was a typical McDonald’s eating experience. Burgers were hot fresh and cooked, as were the fries and soda. Filled the spot I guess.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes-My nephew is confined to an electric wheelchair and he had no problem entering and exiting.

Don’t go here unless you’re planning on waiting 15 minutes for ‘fast food’ then spending almost $20 on 4 cheeseburgers. The location is constantly quite busy with people not knowing where to line up and the staff make no effort to direct people whatsoever, and the staff also seem to be quite poorly trained in customer service and general communication because they always somehow get something in my order wrong / overcharge / short change me. The manager is also extremely rude and will be absolutely no help to any problems you might have.I’ve had numerous horrible experiences at this location however this was the final straw for me, which is sad because McDonald’s used to be so great. I’m a babysitter in the Parkdale neighborhood who came into this location on New Year’s Eve to grab my kids some cheeseburgers as a treat with money their mom left us (I feel the need to stress that this was not my money to lose and I already don’t have a great income), when I entered the store I was left waiting at the counter for a few minutes before I was even greeted by a staff to take my order (she is a regular staff that has messed up my orders before), when I was telling her I’d like 4 cheeseburgers she basically cut me off before I was even finished talking and turned on her heel and walked away, I stood there kind of stunned for a second before I just shrugged it off and pulled the cash and change out of my wallet ($17 in total, a $5 bill, 5 toonies and 2 loonies) to pay for my order, that’s when I realized that for some reason she had automatically assumed I was paying with a card and had the machine trying to charge me, so I stood there and waited again for someone to come back and take the cash I had, eventually what ended up being the manager came to the counter and I had to say to her ‘excuse me, I just ordered and your employee walked away without taking my money?’ and I handed her the $17, my total was just over $12 so it was my mistake for handing her more change than necessary, but then she proceeded to take it all and hand me back 35 cents, I took my change and went to wait for my order but immediately noticed that something was up, so I went back to her and explained I didn’t think she gave me the correct amount of change because I handed her $17 for 4 cheeseburgers and I only got 35 cents back, at this point the restaurant was starting to get a bit busy and there was a line forming so I felt quite awkward and embarrassed having to cut in front to advocate for my change, and in front of all these people she starts arguing with me (a very small 19 year old girl) that she gave me the right amount of change, she then gave me a toonie while acting like she shouldn’t be doing it and I was a thief, and I was so anxious at that point that I just walked away, I took a second to look at my receipt again and I came to realize the manager did not count my $17, she put into the system that I gave her $13, so I went back to the counter AGAIN, now having a lot of trouble as I was experiencing physical symptoms of my diagnosed social anxiety such as tremors, and told her straight up that I handed her $17 and she put on the receipt that I only gave her $13 and I still don’t have the right change, she then argued loudly at me in front of everyone again, saying that she counted and that the change is right and that I need to stop, I asked her politely if she was sure she counted (because I know as a former fast food employee sometimes you just go on autopilot), and she began acting as if I had just flat out accused her of short changing me on purpose, at that point I could very much see that there was no way I was going to get my money back and the manager had no intention of helping me whatsoever, so I just walked away, ultimately probably looking like the one who was in the wrong which is super unfair. I ended up paying for what the manager shorted me out of my own pocket, and though $2 isn’t all that detrimental for me, the experience was beyond frustrating and humiliating and felt like borderline bullying.
