Veggie mix for two was filling with lots more injera than most other places I’ve been to. Great value!

Well priced, excellent variety. We came very hungry and ordered the mesobs platter for two, 25$ and we were very satisfied!

I had the pleasure of enjoying kitfo at Mesobs Restaurant, and I must say—it was absolutely delicious and authentic. The texture, flavor, and the way it was seasoned truly reminded me of traditional kitfo at its best. It was served fresh and perfectly prepared, with the right balance of spices and clarified butter. A real treat for anyone who loves Ethiopian and Eritrean cuisine!

I noticed someone mentioned that the kitfo had tomato sauce in it, which surprised me. In my experience at Mesobs Restaurant there was no tomato sauce added at all—just the classic ingredients you’d expect in a well-made kitfo. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding or a one-time variation, but my meal was genuinely satisfying and true to Ethiopian culinary tradition.

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant and will not be going back. I did a pick up order for Kitfo and was extremely disappointed. The Kitfo was filled with oil and tomatoes sauce with a little bit of ground beef. Tomatoes sauce isn’t even suppose to be in Kitfo. The Ayib (cheese) was placed in the middle of the Kifto and was melted. It did not look appetizing. The customer service was also not the best after going back to show them the food, they did nothing about it and didn’t even offer to remake it. I have attached a picture of the food to this review. Very disappointed.

I was looking for a place to grab dinner by myself in the middle of the week and found Mesobs on Google right up the street from me. I'm so glad I did. It is decorated in a way that you can tell the owners are proud of their culture and looking to share it with people. The atmosphere is cozy, comfortable and nostalgic . My server was so sweet and helped me with my meal as I tried to order an amount of coffee more appropriate to a group than just one person. The food was excellent and the portion was huge. I had the Mesobs Special Veggie and thoroughly enjoyed the two meals I got out of it! The coffee was a wonderful after dinner treat and I just can't say enough about this place. Truly a gem on Lansdowne serving simple, tasty and affordable food that is made with care. I will be back and hope others will enjoy it as much as I did. I didn't manage to take any photos before I started devouring the food but I'll attach what I can!

Mesobs is ONLY for ones to try and no more ➡️tell you why: I’ve been in many African, Ethiopian restaurants, I know how to make injera or doroyout and I know about good food😊👍🏼I can’t call this place as a restaurant, looks like a cafe or fast food place. One teen is serving food and makes mistakes. I was there after lunch time, place was kinda slow with a few customers but I didn’t see any adults who run the Mesobs business. Don’t expect antiseptic napkins to clean your hands before meal 👎🏽 because you have to use 🖐🏼🤌🏼fingers to eat injera/ African type of bread with different veggies or meat souse.
Place needs to be clean 🧼 well⚠️specially ladies washrooms🤢
Sorry for my low key review but I’m very honest with my opinion and paying money for service and food 🚩

This place has become a weekly go to for me. Their lamb tibsi with injera is a 10/10 dish.

The place is cozy, we felt really comfortable there. The food is delicious. They were super friendly. My husband and I went there on a Sunday for lunch. It was full, and only 2 people were working, but they let us know it could take a while to get the food. But either way, it was worth the wait. We'll be back for sure.

Really delicious restaurant. I have tried different dishes like Bamya,Zigni, Goat Meat, Fish Mendi, and Fitfit and they all are very tasty. Their rice is also delicious and the portions are great. Nice atmosphere and friendly service by the people over there. Id recommend getting their Mint Tea after you’re done eating, superb experience.
