I visit this place quite often because I like to add some variety to my diet with oysters. To be honest, every time something surprises me here — sometimes in a very good way, and sometimes not so much.
What I dislike the most is that small shell fragments are quite common in the oysters. They are unpleasant to bite into, and sometimes it even feels like they could slightly damage your teeth.
On the positive side, you can sometimes choose very large oysters, which is a big advantage and generally matches the price. The selection of sauces is quite limited, although I usually prefer just lemon. I should mention that their horseradish is absolutely perfect.
Pros: friendly staff, a wide variety of oysters.
Cons: occasional shell fragments, prices are slightly overpriced.
Staff is nice and great sauce bar
love the oysters and smoked salmon, tried every single one for both
First time visiting this famous oyster bar in St. Lawrence Market, Toronto. So you choose the oysters of your choice from the list provided, they chuck it and serve you. There are multiple sauces to go with it, that you can then add to your oysters, and then enjoy, or you can purchase individual sauce packs to your liking. Difficult to find a seat to sit around. Or you can step out and try your luck on the patio. There are plenty of other choices of seafood like lobsters, crab legs, mussels, dish fillet etc, plus beverages to choose from. The staff is friendly and explains in detail the entire process. The oysters can range anywhere from $3 to$6-$7 if I remember it right. We loved our visit and will go again!1
One thing we never miss when we visit at Lawrence market is a delicious plate of oysters. Always fresh, always fast and friendly service. These guys are really the best.
Great oysters. The staff is very friendly and humorous. Very good experience. Will definitely come again next time. The only regret is that I didn't get to eat sashimi, but that's my problem. I didn't notice it.
There are many fishes and other seafoods to choose from. I got 0.5lb of salmon and 1 scallop which I requested to be cut up into thin slices like sashimi. They tasted very good and fresh. The scallop has a nice sweet taste and there is a table on the side where you can eat and grab utensils or sauces.
can't complain about anything here.
great quality robster with the reasonable price.
I had 4 raw oysters at the bar and the next few days I got stomach flu and went to the hospital. I don’t recommend unless you want to stay in the washroom all day long.
My visit to Mike Fish Market was an absolute delight. Watching the freshly cut fish expertly prepared into sashimi on the spot was both impressive and appetizing. The oysters were a standout, offering a beautiful range of flavors from briny and salty to creamy and subtly earthy. The staff were exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish — I look forward to returning soon.

Reasonable price with very good quality food
The staff are very nice and professional
They will check the quality of oyster
Extremely quick and attentive service, lots of seafood variety from salmon sashimi to fresh PEI oysters to caviar! Salmon was fresh and so was the oysters with many sauce options at the bar seating area.
Sold me a minimum 1 week old grouper the other day for 40$ a pound. Unbelievable that this place sells almost spoiled fish at this price. Go for a oyster or two but never buy fish from this place ever.
They have a wide range of seafood and many kinds of oysters that we can eat at the bar. We were excited to try the oysters so we got a salty, sweet, and creamy one each. There were a lot of sauces to choose from on the bar. However we were left underwhelmed with small-sized oysters and we struggled to differentiate the flavors. For the price that was offered, it was not as worth as we thought it would be.
We had 8 oysters there and were really pleased. They have a small seating area with loads of different hot sauces. You pick the oysters at the counter, they advise you about the different flavor profiles and even give recommendations which sauce to use. Prices are fair, we paid less than 20€ for 8. Would def come back!
