Ambiance and service were amazing. Really disappointed in the food. This used to be the high end sushi place to go for a treat. There was too much rice to fish ratio. The miso was very salty. The lunch special had beef slices that were overly salty and deep fried salmon that was overcooked. The green tea came out in an ugly steel tea pot you would find at a cheap Chinese restaurant. Not worth the cost at all.

Im disappointed today.. very sloppy. How do you classify yourselves as fine dining/high quality sushi but serve brown avocado rolls? Salmon also tasted fishy today, might as well go to Kibo

Super great service and food, we tried one of the sushi platter options and the sushis on there were super creative but still highlighted that it was indeed sushi and not some concoction like other restaurants who just put mayo on sushi and call it sushi. Foie gras sushi was to die for. Wil be back!

Overall, really pleasant experience at Miku for lunch. Service was excellent. Food quality was very high but not quite outstanding given the premium price. Ambience was good with moderate noise level.

My experience is always superb and consistent each time I come to Miku. I know what to expect and the quality and service is always top notch to bring the experience to the next level. For a restaurant to keep powering through all that has come their way in the industry and to continue to provide the best guest experience, this place is a mainstay and exemplifies the perfect model approach for service and excellency in dining. Thank you so much!

My experience with Miku lunch menu.
My friend invited me to a Japanese lunch at Miku and I was thrilled at it was my first experience to enjoy a meal here. I looked forward to a typical Japanese lunch menu in a Obento box and add some dishes like aburi, nigiri and sashimi.
To my surprise there wasn’t a obento box. We had to choose from maki rolls, nigiri, oshi sushi and aburi. Since I lived in Japan for 30 years I expected it to be like one of the high end Japanese culinary cuisine.
The sushi was fresh and quality was great but the cutlery was not Japanese. Mainly white Westen dishes with fork and spoon. No hot green tea was served with the meals. Miso soup was priced at $5. Chopsticks were not waribashi. It had more of a western twist rather than leaning toward the Japanese culinary concept. I loved the image inside with the decor and koi fish wall. It didn’t give me that impression of Japanese high end restaurant. I noted one senior chef who was Japanese and I greeted him on my way out.

We had the autumn tasting menu and it was amazing. Great variety of dishes, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious! The wine/sake pairing was also fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Good amount of food - we were satisfied but not stuffed. Highly recommended!

I was by myself so sat at the bar. Service was attentive and fantastic, definitely the best part was the service. The food and ambience were fine but nothing to rave about, but maybe it is what I ordered and the time and day I was there. I really enjoyed the sake flight and overall, I had a nice meal and it is way better than anything in Ottawa!

The food was outstanding! What made the experience better was our server. He was awesome he explained all the food to us one by one.
It was my wife's bday and she is gluten tolerant and they made all the necessary adjustment. We asked our server to bring out additional food and that he can choose. He nailed it. We did the same with our drinks.
At the end they brought out a special something for dessert for my wife which was awesome. Now dont get me wrong I'm not complaining about the money, but they charged us for the spontaneous dessert. It just would have added to the overall experience if it was complimentary. Over all it was a great night

Probably the prettiest sushi plate I have ever eaten! Lots of great flavours. Our server was great and was able to give us great recommendations. 10/10 spot for a date night!
