My favourite aburi oshi place in Toronto! I always get the salmon oshi when I'm there and it's never disappointed. This time I tried their special appetizers as well, loved both the hotate crudo and Wagyu carpaccio as well!

Miku has always been my favourite restaurant to visit during a conference at Metro Toronto Convention Centre.Today’s experience however, changed my perspective and I do not recommend any large groups to eat here.First, two of us arrived asking for a table to seat 7 people, however we weren’t 100% sure if the 7th person would show up as we couldn’t reach the person once lunch break started. As we got seated, the manager came to explain to us about the new tipping policy: for a group of 7 or more, the tip is 20% now instead of 18%.Fine, we told her we maybe a group of 6 people, which then she replied “20% tip policy applies to a group of 6 people too.”I did not like the sudden flip flop on this new policy, that seems to change based on how many people we will have at the table. The menu on the other hand clearly stated “Group of 7 people or more, 18% gratuity applies”The lack of transparency made this policy sounded very shady, and the manager said the new policy started in April so there was no time to update the menu. (We are in middle of April, I am surprised these important notices have not been updated on the menu.)The attitude of the manager was also not what I would have expected at Miku. The waiter was pleasant, and the food was good as usual, however I am not sure if this whole experience was worth $50 for 10 pieces of sushi and a cup of miso soup. The tipping culture is supposed to represent the customer’s gratitude for the service we receive for a nice meal. Imposing 20% tip for substandard customer service by the manager is the reason. I will no longer recommend this restaurant to anyone.

It was just ok. I felt that some of the sushi lacked flavour. The best thing I ate was the cheesecake. Way too much $$$, definitely not going back.

Sensational Sushi - Sushi Heaven where Freshness Meets CreativityMiku is our go to sushi restaurant!!What truly steels the show is the inventive fusion of flavors, showcasing the chef's mastery of traditional Japanese cuisine and innovative culinary techniques. We were treated to a delightful array of sushi creations, each one bursting with freshness and artfully presented. The staff were not only attentive and efficient but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, providing us with fantastic recommendations throughout our meal.Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a remarkable sushi experience that seamlessly blends tradition with modernity.

Fabulous restaurant to get together. Their Miku roll and espresso martini bring me back repeatedly. Great place to meet up and chat before going to Scotia arena concerts.

Excellent experience at Miku for the first time. On Saturday we had a reservation for 6pm and although it was cancelled last minute due to an unexpected power outage at the establishment, we were contacted promptly by their team and were offered to reschedule right away. The correspondent who left us a message was very apologetic and helpful. When we finally were able to dine in, our experience was up to par with our expectations. The servers are very knowledgeable and friendly! Which is very refreshing. The sushi plates were excellent and the Aburi prime was a stand out. Thank you Miku for communicating wonderfully.

Yesterday, Saturday afternoon I booked 7:30 pm reservations at Miku Toronto looking forward to celebrate my wife's birthday. We spent 45 minutes UBER'ing in heavy downtown traffic to get there. Finally we arrived to find the restaurant closed, and noone bothered to call and notify us.The manager finally came out to speak with us; she was arrogant and rude and did not even at least apologize. We were left with no options as it was too late to book anything else.We dine out in Toronto quite regularly and travel often to New York and California, we just returned from Los Angeles and Malibu. Most of my reviews are very positiveDon't be swayed by the pretty pictures on the Miku Toronto website,Toronto has many better options and Miku Toronto is too far out of the way unless you live right at the Lakeshore !

The problem at this price point is that the food needs to taste "wow" and I don't think Miku achieved that. I've had better sushi at at least half the price. We had the chef combo.Overall, the sushi tastes ok but the side dish isn't great. The scallops tasted nicely with the sauce but I don't think the cucumbers go well with it (it was a bit bitter and distracting - doesn't highlight the scallop taste as much). The green tea opera cake was great and structured well to have a well-balanced tasty & fresh bite.We also ordered the oysters since my friend was from out of town and craved. I'd say it's the same as every oysters I had in NA so far, so nothing special. The drink was good. The service was great. Every dish in the chef combo was explained in detail.
