The interior design was absolutely beautiful with ribbon from the ceiling. We got a lot of plates to share and everything tasted delicious. The staff so all so kind and helpful especially with dietary restrictions. The cocktails were some of the best Ive ever had -- they tasted like juice.

Went in looking for a meal not an experience, and they delivered. My friend got sushi and I got the auburi chicken. Decent amount of people dining here. Was amazed how quickly the food came out!! It was great because we were hungry, but cocktails came out at the same time so it felt a little rushed considering the vibe here is definitely enjoy the company and ambiance a little. Our server did say she didn't want us to feel rushed, so we stayed to chat awhile. In a very walkable part of town. There's also public transportation (we used a Lyft). Food was flavorful, and portions were just right. Prices reasonable. Giving a 4 star because service was very average.

The staff and service was absolutely incredible. Everyone was so attentive and the aburi is a must order here! I'll definitely be coming back!

I'm conflicted about leaving this review. The dishes we chose were succulent, offering fabulous explosions of flavors. However, I experienced symptoms that could be likened to food poisoning just 1-2 hours after dining, though my partner was unaffected, so I can't say for sure it was the food. The restaurant was very very warm (my face was burning!), yet ironically, the bathroom was freezing. Also, be prepared for a hefty bill; the portions are small, and we ended up ordering at least six different dishes to share between two, a glass of wine and a cocktail (for a total of 560$). Despite these issues, the service was absolutely perfect.

Went for date night with my husband and we absolutely loved it!! Our waitress was so attentive and lovely, the ambience was great albeit a little bit cold where we were seated! We did the tasting menu and would HIGHLY recommend...would suggest getting the sable fish over the short rib, it was divine! Definitely would come back again and a great place to bring friends from out of town :)

MinamiFirst impression…not super impressed. I’ve heard only good things about this place. It was my first time going. We were seated right away. We had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to take our order, only after we flagged someone down to ask if we had a server. The bar was playing rap music, and we could hear the servers rapping as they were standing at the bar.The food however was very good! The restaurant itself was pretty. Service was ok.

Nice spot for lunch. They have a selection of sushi lunch specials. I got the sushi and aburi special. Good service and a nice seating area. I’d go again for lunch.

Beautiful restaurant with fast service for a competitive price. We ordered two cocktails and stuffed ourselves with sushi for 124$ plus tip. I was so impressed with the California rolls that we ordered another round. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy the professional service.

My daughter and I came here for dinner before the show yesterday. Absolutely amazing experience! Service was wonderful and our server was very knowledgeable (I'm sorry I can't remember her name). The food is to die for. I have never liked brussel sprouts my entire life but we ended up ordering 2 helpings they were so good! The carrot cake was practically a religious experience! It is pretty expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. We will be coming back with the whole family next time!

2.75/5 FOOD | Brought my friends that were visiting town to try Minami! We got the sautéed wild mushrooms ($10), salmon crudo ($23), o-toro and caviar duo ($30), yellowtail oshi ($14.50), ebi oshi ($14.50), and albacore oshi ($14.50). Dude honestly nothing here was very stand out and the prices were way too high for what it was. The oshi only came with 4 pieces and none of them were great. Salmon crudo was grainy for some reason? The sautéed mushrooms were honestly probably the stand-out, the garlic and wine reduction were very good. AMBIANCE | It's nice inside but I am a King St W hater haha I don't like the crowd that restaurants on that strip draw out. SERVICE | Standard service that you'd expect for a higher-end restaurant. nothing stand out. VERDICT | Go to Miku instead LOL or tbh any of the popular kaisen-don places have the same quality fish for better prices.

My overall experience at Minami was just average. The service was definitely the highlight of my visit, as the staff were very friendly and attentive. They constantly checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food. While it was presented nicely and had some interesting flavours, it just didn't wow me. My only favourite dish was the sautéd wild mushroom, it was delicious, juicy and packed with flavour. The sushi oshi were decent, but lacked that 'wow' factor that I look for in Japanese cuisine. The portion sizes were good for the price. The calamari was bland, nothing really special it was generic. The aburi chicken was well made and flavourful my second favourite dish. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with a modern and clean decor.Overall, I would give Minami Japanese restaurant a rating of three stars. The great service definitely made up for the average food, but I expected more for the price. I may not have selected the best of the dishes, I will have to try other menu items next item and that may change my mind. I would be back again.
