Staff are all outstanding - polished, polite, prompt, attentive and friendly. Dishes are composed of quality ingredients, prepared correctly and nicely plated (calamari appetizer was terrific). Short but competent wine list. Highly recommend and will return!

Lovely setting. The food was excellent. Homemade grilled sausage had just a bit of heat and the veal piccata was delicate and tender. Flourless chocolate cake decadently dense and chocolatey. Appropriately attentive and helpful server. Nice dinner before a performance at Roy Thomson hall.

Google as well as Modus website advertises restaurant open until 10pm on Friday. Made a reservation on Open Table which was confirmed for 8:15pm. Arrived at 8:15pm and all the doors were locked and bartender let me know “kitchen was closed”. Advised her/bartender that I had a reservation and was told “sorry”. Recommend management revise advertised hours and/or their online booking system so that they are not accepting resos they are unwilling to honour.

OMG!!! This is a must dining experience!! Suzy and Britta are outstanding!! Came for lunch and had to return for dinner same day!!! We were that impressed … I cannot say enough about this food…. I don’t normally write reviews, but I just had one of the best dining experiences of my life in Toronto, and I had to share. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming – but what really made the evening special was the service and the food.
Our waiter, Terrin, was absolutely remarkable. I mentioned that I was gluten-free, and without missing a beat, he listed off a variety of options from memory. It wasn’t just that they had gluten-free dishes – it was the way he made me feel completely included and taken care of. Not once did I feel like I was an inconvenience or had to compromise on taste or quality.
The food itself? Incredible. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with care. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Terrin came back to offer me a special gluten-free dessert, a stunning creation with raspberry and chocolate. It was clearly made with someone like me in mind, and it completely blew me away.
Whether you’re gluten-free, have celiac disease, or simply want a memorable night out, this place is a gem. I’m so grateful for the experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Toronto.
