Went here for a local artist concert. Cozy yet small space, no food but Nice house beer.

If you’re a geezer of a transplant who’d left Old Blighty and misses the drinking ‘culture’, you’re gonna be happy you swung by here because it’s the best of both sides of the Atlantic: the pubbiest Brit pub with pubby vibes mixed with the ‘sit at the bar and have a yarn’ friendliness of the North Americas. It’s rather crafty too that the main pub is upstairs, the band room is downstairs, and the locaysh (short for ‘location’) just feels nice as it’s off the main drag.

I enjoy the main floor tavern to see and hear local musicians. Laid back vibe, reasonably priced drinks, good sound, in an oldy worldy atmosphere that is the Monarch.

Seeing stars after a night at the Monarch. A win on almost everything, especially the food. After an assortment of sliders with the rosemary fries I asked to speak to the chef to let him know how delicious it was. Attentive, friendly bar staff actually seemed to like being at work and interacting with guests. Eclectic music was loud enough to add a vibe but could still hear others talk. Despite Toronto getting a massive dump of snow that night, It filled up - and it was worth braving the elements.

Great pub in Little Italy. The building is tucked inside a residential street just south off of College. Downstairs live music, upstairs bar with 15 craft taps.Upstairs The vibe is loud and fun; sports on a few TVs, pool table but mainly tables/chairs and couches. The food is limited but amazing. We had gorgeous sliders: beef + curry chicken+ pork belly. Only $20??! We should have hit it again. Friends had fish sliders. Fries are huge and crunchy. It’s bistro pub style in a very fun bar. Attractive clientele too!Parking: Green P is immediately north of College on Clinton. There’s 2;One is a basement lot the other is behind the school, both west off Clinton.$10 for the evening 7pm until closingStreet parking is difficult; but available.

Me and some close friends went here to celebrate a birthday party, and had an incredible evening here. The staff was fast in preparing and mixing drinks despite their being a huge crowd, and service was highly efficient. The sliders were also a great little meal to share between everyone.

Had my best friends 50th birthday party here last weekend. From the initial inquiry months before, to the day of the party, Evan from The Monarch Tavern was amazing to deal with and very accommodating. The space itself downstairs is spacious and has everything you need for A/V hookups. The atmosphere has somewhat of a “grit and grace” feel to it, meaning it could benefit from a few renovations, but on the other hand, the patina of the venue gives it that charm. It’s a historical gem smack dab in the middle of residential Little Italy! Perfect for a gathering of 100 people.
