I recently visited mother and, unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the poor service from the hostess. Despite there being several empty tables, she was rude and unwilling to accommodate our seating request. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome, and it was surprising to receive such treatment in an otherwise nice establishment. It’s disappointing when an experience is marred by a lack of hospitality, especially when a simple, friendly accommodation would have made all the difference. I hope management considers addressing this aspect of their service.

Sour dough bread with the butter was unreal. The cocktails have so much depth and were some of the best I’ve ever had. Service is best I’ve had in Toronto so far and atmosphere is warm and not rowdy. My top cocktail place hands down!

The place has a fun intimate date atmosphere. We got amazing service from Coral, our server, who was attentive and kind. Shoutout to James the bartender for an excellent Vieux Carre, as well as the great recommendations to the city of Toronto. Your local knowledge is invaluable. (Antica was a great choice!)

His expertise and genuine passion for mixology are clear in every drink he serves, and he’s always ready with fantastic recommendations based on what you like.

After visiting hundreds of every style of bar in Toronto, I was prepared to not be that amused but the drinks at this place were unreal. If it wasn't a work night, I'd probably stay and try more things from the menu and I cannot wait to go back.
The petrichor & the guava old fashioned with daishi were decadent, aromatic, light on feel but packed a beautiful punch.

This is a special place. This is NOT your typical bar. The team at Mother is constantly pushing the envelope with their creativity, ingenuity, and culinary prowess.
It’s so refreshing to have such a unique spot in the city; they focus on fermentation and they know how to make outstanding offerings which are palatable to all types of patrons. Don’t sleep on the food being served here. I’m obsessed with their koji aged beef tartare.
The perfect date spot in my opinion. I urge you to go, don’t be on the fence. GO TO MOTHER! They are true alcohol alchemists. This is my favourite bar and I don’t see that changing.
