Great food, quick service, and nice ambience. Would definitely recommend the wagyu nigiri, tuna temaki, and wagyu striploin. Serving sizes were great, and the ingredients all tasted very fresh. The striploin in particular was standout for us — it came with a generous portion of roasted shishito peppers and even some freshly grated wasabi. A true hidden gem in downtown toronto, would definitely recommend.
Amazing value for very high quality ingredients, deliciously brought together and artfully presented. Most notable is their scallop and hamachi sashimi! Wonderful service in a beautifully designed space. Great for a date night.
Excellent experience, excellent food and super cozy and quiet atmosphere, excellent for a date with your partner or family.
Our server was amazing. He provided some great suggestions and food was delicious. Worth the price. We'd go back again.
We had mackerel, scallops, wagyu roll and unagi fois gras roll. They were nice. I love the scallops. Peach lemonade was nice, too.
Muni Robata delivered a terrific evening with outstanding flavors and a vibrant atmosphere. Every dish was spot on, and the experience has us looking forward to our next visit. See you soon!
We order tuna tataki and ask a server what kind of tuna they use.
The server went to kitchen to make sure and said it’s blue fin but not toro.
But we got was BC white tuna🤣 It’s totally different. We deal with seafood all the time we know the difference.
The chefs need to learn.
Also the server didn’t come to tell us for the last call for the kitchen.
When we wanted to order food after we order one bottle of Sake, the server told us the kitchen already closed.
Food was Ok. But not our kind of restaurant. So we don’t come back.
Both the tuna and salmon crunchy temakis as well as the mushroom rice were excellent. The only item on the menu with plenty of vegetables was the sukiyaki...it was good with very tender beef slices but the broth was too salty. Next time I'll ask them to use just half the amount of soy sauce.
Food was great and service was professional just wish I hadn’t seen the mouse on our way out

Muni Robata has a very aesthetic and elegant environment. From the interior decoration to the plates and cutlery, everything feels carefully curated. The food was good (not outstanding, but enjoyable) and beautifully presented. The highlight for me were the crunchy tuna tamaki rolls, definitely the gem of the menu. The wagyu brisket noodles were also good, though they lacked a bit of the rich flavor you usually expect from wagyu or brisket.
The restaurant works well for a casual dinner, and prices are fair for downtown Toronto (around $50–$60 per person after tip).
Where the experience fell short for me was the service. While the staff were polite and respectful, I had a reservation but still waited around 10 minutes to be seated. It also felt like they were understaffed, food took 30–40 minutes to arrive, some dishes weren’t served in the right order (our crab dumplings appetizer came at the very end), which made the flow of the dinner a bit frustrating.
Overall, a nice spot with good food and great presentation, but the service experience is what would make me hesitant to return.

Went with 4 of my friends and we all throughly enjoyed our meal!!! The price and the quality of the food was outstanding. Definitely will be coming back!
Short menu so not good that one of the only 2 fish dishes in a "Robata" place was "unavailable" (the skate wing). Also we tried the the tofu dish with uni and it didn't work at all. Something happens when you cook uni (let along overcook it); you kill it. What a waste.
We had an excellent meal here. I was a bit stressed and surprised by the small menu, it seemed to be different than what I had seen online. I had two kids, 9&12 with me so I had chosen the restaurant based on the online menu. We ended up getting many of the dishes in hopes of finding something the kids might like. They happily ate it all! Every dish that came out we all enjoyed, Including the raw tuna which they normally would not have even tried. We loved the food and the service was attentive but not over bearing. Only complaint was the limited wine by the glass options, there was only one white available by the glass and it was a Pinot Grigio.
We went there to celebrate a special occasion as we love Japanese food and wanted a fine dining experience. Our reservation was made online through their website. Majority of their food is Halal with the exception of maybe 2-3 dishes. If you ask the server, they will tell you exactly which items.
Food- We tried the following items from their dinner menu:
Muni Sukiyaki (shared by 2) 3.5/5
Crispy Salmon Temaki 5/5
Crab Dumplings 5/5
Dessert- Zen Harmony cheesecake 4/5
We started off with these because we weren’t sure if we would need more food after this. Between 2 people, we could’ve ate a bit more but we had to be somewhere else and didn’t have time to order more food and wait.
Service- Excellent service. I believe our server’s name was Lisa and she was incredible! Very polite, patient and helpful when we couldn’t decide on which items to order.
Ambience- Fine dining experience. We saw people dressed from casual to formal and the restaurant had couples as well as families with children dining in.
Overall, it was a good experience and we plan on going back to try their halal steak dishes.

Service was excellent!
Food was good. A couple of areas for improvement will take it to the next level!
1. Consider how the sizzling pot mushroom can be re-arranged so that the fried mushrooms don’t get soggy immediately time in the sizzling pot’s gravy. Maybe a layered dish where the mushroom and gravy are separate?
2. The crispy shrimps were not super crispy. They tasted good and portion size was great.
3. The mushroom rice required a bit more seasoning and flavour to really let the mushroom umami shine through.
