They never have brown sugar, we asked for it so many times and every time we’ve been told that the owner won’t bring. Coffee is mediocre. Please look at the garbage and the disgusting spills on the floor, unacceptable. No standards, no principles. Where is the respect towards the customers? We would love to see this place improve to the next level, because it is a nice coffee place in a great neighbourhood.

The coffee is good, but it wasn't filled all the way. The service was extremely slow. and the atmosphere is outdated... I was the only person in line but it took almost 15-20 minutes to get my drink.

Came in just after 8am because the Starbucks is gone. Coffee was absolutely horrible, had to throw it out after one sip. Do they clean the machine? I don’t know, but never coming back. Utter slop.

Leaving this review in hopes that the owner will see it. I have been coming to this café for years and the lentil soup is always hit or miss. PLEASE STOP serving soup that has started to go bad (or has gone bad). The sandwich and soup combo is almost $20 after tax and tip, so I really do not like walking all the way home to enjoy my $20 meal only to find out that the soup is RANCID. Home made lentil soup only keeps in the fridge for 3-4 days. I can taste when it is fresh and when it has started to go bad. Today, the soup was down right rancid. Please stop this practice and inform your staff to label the soup on the day it is made, so that they know when to throw it out and make a new batch.
Been here twice, since it’s a local cafe I was expecting a friendly vibe. First time I visited in the summer, I was disappointed with the service from one of the employees, everybody has a bad day and I chalked it up to that.
Today I go back there on my morning walk, same lady, same disgruntled / annoyed attitude as if I’m inconveniencing her by ordering a coffee.
Definitely never going back.

Have been going here off and on for years. Always liked their smoked salmon bagel. Today I went in for that, and was sadly disappointed. Not available today, waiting for deliveries.
Ok, well they had a chicken club, so tried that with some potatoe salad. It was not a club sandwich, but rather a small amount of chicken salad on a very dry stale and hard bun. Potatoes in the potatoe salad were very much undercooked.
I used to really like going here, but after today I doubt I will return. Just not what it used to be. As I left, no “thank you” or “how was your lunch?”. Two employees were busy gossiping with a friend (customer?) in the restaurant. I doubt I will return.

Considering this cafe is the only local one in the neighbourhood, we tend to visit it often for a cuppa and their brekky special which is yum! However, our last experience here was awful thanks to the rudeness of one of the lady servers Naomi I believe is her name. She is usually rude and has a disinterested look on her face which makes you feel like you’re burdening her with your order. We have raised this with the rest of the staff like Sol who is absolutely amazing and friendly. Not sure what is being done about it. I hope that server changes so our experience at the cafe can be pleasant and friendly.
