NaiNai Indonesian Food

NaiNai is above average food court eats. Tucked away near the south-east end of Village by the Grange food court, past Popeyes, you’ll see their neon sign.

We scan the menu and I order the Beef Rendang with rice ($13). The meat is soft and tender with a pleasing spiciness and has a comforting taste of coconut milk and savory spices. It comes with a side of cabbage salad and green chili pepper sambal if you want to kick up the spice level.

After discussing her food allergies with the server my sis-in-law settled on the Java Coconut Soup with beef ($16). It came with a side of rice. She was happy and said it hit the spot. We ended our lunch with a satisfyingly, sweet Fried Banana dessert ($7 for 3 pieces).

The service is friendly. It took awhile for our food to come but It’s definitely a place I would go back to.

Cute little shop selling a range of classic dishes like mie goreng or nasi goreng with toppers such as rendang with beef or chicken. They have several dishes using Indo-me instant noodles. Friendly service, decent food, great red Thai tea.
This shop is in a very diverse food court with several unique little independent food shops from all over the world. It's worth checking out.

I called and wanted to ask if it’s halal, I asked kindly would like to know if it’s halal food. The lady said yes it is halal I said if I come would you be showing me the certificate, she said NO! I said that means it’s not then. She said with really rude tone if you don’t want to buy it from us then don’t come and call us. Isn’t they lie job or duty to answer in a good manner or not? Also, whether sale anything for religious people has to have the certificate if not then it’s not valid and it’s not true. What kind of costumer service they have.

Pretty good selection of noodles and dishes. Nai nai also has specials of the day so the prices are pretty good! I got the vermicelli with beef balls and their indomie Ramen. Both were 12 dollars and you get a decent amount of noodles and broth. As for flavour, they were pretty standard and what you'd expect if you had indomie before. Just be aware that this location is busy since it serves the OCAD (university students) community and the Village by the grange is a pretty lively spot so long lines are to be expected during the lunch and dinner hour. Other than those things, a pretty yummy and convenient spot! ?

For those that are curious about ordering from this joint for delivery, I highly suggest you reconsider. I placed an order through Doordash, and not only did I not receive the two the main dishes that was ordered, but was replaced with one bowl of rice with a boiled egg and some dried shrimp paste.
To top it off the two tiny desserts I received were a total rip off at $7 each. I was only refunded with one of the main dishes through Doordash. This meal costed me $40 after price adjustment and it’s the most unappetizing, unsatisfying and disappointing food delivery I’ve ever experienced.

Indomie is so good with beef randang! Note that the beef randang and curry chicken rice are both quite spicy - will double check with the restaurant if you can’t have spice.

Great place to stop by after class or on break! The iced Thai tea is delicious and affordable, but on the sweet side for those that like their milk tea very sweet. Also tried their beef satay with rice. I loved the beef skewers, really fresh, tender, and delicious with a pleasant sweet savory flavor. I just really wish there was more meat as the meat to rice ratio is quite large and I had a lot of rice leftover after finishing my meat. Rice was nice and fresh and the dark sweet soy sauce was really nice on it as well as the salad, just thought that the salad had a bit too much sweet dressing drowning it out but that’s just a personal preference. Additionally, service is super friendly and the interior of the restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated. Truly a gem in the Grange, best of luck to them :)

The best Indonesian food in toronto. Solid 4 stars but it can be better. Price is reasonable and portion is decent. Friendly staffs and fast service. The resteraunt is located at the end of the mall and seating can be tricky since it’s shared with other vendors on the food court. We tried the fried rice and beef rendang. It’s good but I found the meat is a little dry. The satay can be improved if the satay sauce has real peanuts in it. Overall, I would recommend to visit this place if you are around the area. They also have the indome for sale.

Nai nai made my day! Taste is authentic, makes me feel like i'm having my beautiful rendang right in Indonesia. The staff was very friendly. I wish you guys a successfull bussiness and spread your wings down here in Markham someday!!
