Great Smoked Meat sandwich

Jackie’s Law

Dined in here about 5 years ago and it was not impressive at that time, thought it was just a fast served food joint
Returned to give it another shot since egg salad sandwich is becoming a bit difficult to find. Ended up our brunch dining experience was great, besides the guy who sit us down was cold and has no facial expressions, the waitress with a strong European accent who took over was a sweet lady.
Food was great, the egg salad sandwich was just as expected, omelette was delish as well as the soup of the day (lentils), all freshly made. They also served good coffee.
Will see this place our regular go-to restaurant from now on.

I’ve been to the here many times as I live in Toronto now, but I’m from the Bronx New York City and I can tell you that this place is very good. It’s very much a New York deli.

I used to come here when I was in university and decided to try this place after all these year and did not disappoint. Still one of the best in the city!

I got a burger, on the picture it was looking much better than in real life.
the burger was so big it was comical, and when I took a bite it fell apart right away.
Also, there was no sauce when they gave it to me.
the bun was not made for burgers, also part of why it all fall apart. All the veggies were sliced so big and easily slid out.
The taste of the patty was good though, but I was so upset with different ingredients pictures and reality. They need Gordon Ramsey to come and take them out of the past

I ordered the matzah ball once before a few weeks ago and it was solid. I have a cold and ubered it again - this time the matzah ball was practically inedible - rock hard, and brown in the middle? Broth was decent, but the bizarre off-putting matzah ball was enough to make me never reorder. Disappointing.

Uninspiring cold pastrami sandwich on a pallid rye bread. The Ruben was almost entirely lacking in cheese. The only thing in common with NY was the unfriendly service. Bathrooms were spotless, I’ll give them that.

the sandwich was pretty good, but not anything spectacular. i paid $23 for the smoked meat combo which comes with one sandwich and this measly serving of fries. the fries were just okay, but i thought it was strange how they don’t fill up the container all the way. it was half full when i opened the bag up. also it seemed really chaotic in there while i was waiting for my sandwich. overall, the taste was good but for $23 i was not satisfied or full.

Good food served with classic no frills new york city style service. I found the bread to be really soft and delicious, and the salmon bagel platter was pretty good too. The ambience is tasteful, quiet except for a nice radio channel faintly playing in the background. I also enjoyed trying the wide selection of mustards with the bagel.

The only reason I give 4 stars is I found it to be a bit expensive for the food that served, so the value for money is not the best. I would've given 5 stars if the platter was $3 cheaper.

I was outside with the portion because I am currently looking at the other reviews and they have generous amount of meat on their sandwiches. When I got little. I did ask the people what happened to the portion but they explained that they were the same. But I guess there's something wrong with my eyes because apparently mine looks like the same with the rest f the others.

Egg salad, tasteless, stale dry rye. Corn beef cold, stale dry rye bread, tasteless. Matzo ball soup with massive tasteless ball hardly any soup. Won't be ordering from here ever again. Do not recommend.
