This place use to be THE Portuguese bakery on Dundas but it’s gone downhill for years now. The food is as expected. It’s not bad but it feels a little bit overpriced. It’s a cozy environment however the space has decreased significantly. It use to have quite a large dining area on the other side that closed down. The service could be much better. The people don’t seem very friendly (I don’t expect everyone to bend over backwards for customers but they seem miserable...

Been coming here since I was a kid in the 80’s. It used to be much bigger and nicer.
Over the years the location has become dull.
The place could use a spruce to make it more cozy and some light music to make the ambiance better.
The only good thing this place has going for it is the amazing pastries and portuguese bread.
No one makes fresh authentic pastels de nata like Nova Era.
