We four had a lovely lunch today.
Ryan was very attentive, our fish and chips came directly from the pan to our plates.
The haddock was flavourful- delicate whitefish in a light batter,it was excellent. The fries were very tasty; crunchy outside and soft but yummy inside.
The entire meal was delicious. We all chose the price fixed lunch menu and had splendid and tasty carrot cake for dessert..
What a terrific meal, for $30!

Whatever they do to the Fish & Chips is heavenly. Get it and thank me later.

I brought in my team for a lunch event - the restaurant was pretty much empty, so ambiance and sound levels were great. A couple of minor hiccups.... The entire table got their starters except me and it took about five minutes to flag someone down to grab my salad that was sitting there waiting. The food for the most part was quite good except for some burnt hamburger buns. Fixed price lunches were a good value.
Great spot in the heart of Toronto. I loved the tuna poke bowl and the espresso martini was delish! The chicken curry dish was also great

The food was very good. The server asked if there were any dietary restrictions or food allergies, and the kitchen was able to modify one of the dishes to accommodate a food allergy.

My guest and I had been to Canteen pre-COVID, and were seeing a show nearby, so we booked there again. Our server was friendly and helpful. My guest had a food intolerance, and the server was careful to ensure that the food she ordered was free of that ingredient, which was much appreciated. The decor seemed to have been downgraded since we last were there, and the menu was definitely less sophisticated. It now is indeed, more like a canteen, than a typical O&B restaurant. The food was ok, and reasonably priced, for downtown Toronto. My guest sent back her soft drink because it was flat (she was told it would be poured from a can, but definitely was not), and I had to send back my coffee after the meal, because it was only lukewarm. I expected more from an O&B restaurant. We probably won't go back again, with so many other options in the area.
The Canteen at the Bell Lightbox is a popular place to eat. It is a bright and friendly restaurant and the food is good. A very convenient meeting place in the Entertainment District.
Got an amazing Thanksgiving lunch catered for our office lunch today, everything was perfect and they had a great vegetarian option for those that requested. Highly recommend!

Great food and service!
Have been a customer for several years, but had been away for a while. Like the pre-event pre-fixe menu with choice of 2-dishes or 3-dishes. Some new dishes to try as well. However the food wasn't up to the standard we have experienced in the past. The Kale salad was overdressed, roasted potatoes were dry which a more generous portion of cauliflower puree might have helped. Sorbet with fresh fruit came with just 4 raspberries. Service was friendly and efficient but lacked a the energy that we have experienced in the past.
We weren't able to finish our meal due to an emergency in the Canteen kitchen last night which was unfortunate, but obviously not their fault. We had our appetizers and drinks at no charge as a result. Be aware, the plant-based/vegan options listed in the online menu are no longer available. I was told they no longer offer tofu which left me with one plant-based option or a "Beyond" burger (frozen fake meat at an upscale restaurant).
We found that your prices had increased dramatically. $12 for a glass of wine was steep for the size offered
We enjoyed a fantastic brunch before attending a show at The Royal Alexandra. The mimosa flight offered wonderful variety, and the carrot cake was, without question, the best I've ever had. Our server—whose name, regrettably, I can't recall—was gracious, attentive, and perfectly balanced in her approach. Everyone in our party was delighted with their meals, and we all agreed that we would gladly return.
