Oakham Café is one of my favorite spots on campus! The student staff are always extremely kind, welcoming, and genuinely seem happy to be there! which makes the atmosphere feel really warm and friendly.
You can tell they care about making students feel comfortable.
The food is also great, especially considering how affordable it is for students. The prices really align with what university students can afford, without sacrificing quality or portion sizes. My go-to orders are the Student Loan Special for breakfast and the Mac and Cheese for lunch - both are delicious and filling.
Overall, it’s the perfect place to grab a good meal, relax between classes, and support student-run work on campus. Highly recommend!

I love the two options of either take out or dine in and there’s many charging ports which makes it a great place to study as well as eat. The food here is AMAZING like the ONLY thing i’ll say is to ask for less sugar in the chai latte because it’s pretty sweet

We came to this cafe for lunch at it is close to our office and we would live to support a business run by students.
The cafe has a beautiful and creative presentation of their menu; each page framed separately and attached to the wall. The staff are very friendly and attentive. And the cafe offers halal and vegan food options.
We ordered “Metro Burger” with Greens, and “Student Loan Special with Sauce” and “Sweet Chili Fries”. The food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely like to come back to try out more of their menu options.

this might be the best place to get real food with a relatively cheap price near campus! I loveeeee the grilled cheese so much and the soup on the side was the perfect choice. This healed me and gave me comfort 😭 the portions are BIG and I was absolutely FILLED. It is sooo cheap compared to other places around campus.
1000% would come again and study here just for the grilled cheese and the warm soup~

Went with a couple of friends and ordered the iced matcha lattes, iced chai lattes as well as the Chicken Curry, Pasta of the Day, Student Loan Special, a regular Poutine and the Mac and Cheese!! Everything was so good and reasonably priced. Service was amazing and super attentive, will definitely be coming back :)

prices have gone way up, its no longer an affordable option for students. the service is very slow. often wait 10+ minutes for a latte. they serve people out of order and are often inefficient. VERY nice staff, they’re all students (i think) but it’s just not a viable option for me or my friends anymore for on-campus meals

Something is up with the sweet chili fries. I have been getting them since 2022 and the flavor and quality of the fries have gone down drastically. It used to be crinket fries, which allowed for better absorption of sauce, but now the fries are straight and small, and does not fill up the box. The sauce seems to be watered down as well, making the price unjustified. Bring back REAL SWEET CHILI FRIES !!! Please 🥹🥹🥹
