There was around 40 min wait. The food was amazing and staff are firendly. They won't split bills though
Highly recommend for an exceptional Okonomiyaki in Toronto. Don’t listen to the folks saying it’s not the real deal, this is some solid Okinawa style Okonkmiyaki. Very filling, very satisfying, great staff. Do get the bonito flakes and try the pork on the first bat, then come back for the curry.
I have been visiting for well over 35 years. I am so pleased that in all that time, they have never reduced the quality of the food. The beef teriyaki is just as fabulous, tender and flavourful, as it was the first time i had it. Congrats, guys. Its nice to have a place you can count on, over so much of your life.
hidden gem in Toronto! good okonomiyaki and amazing Japanese curry!
Delicious, authentic japanese food! We got the pork okonomi, beef yakisoba, edamame and custard pudding.
The food was freshly made, portion sizes are huge and flavour very good. It’s the kind of food that won’t leave your mouth feeling dry/thirsty so you know they don’t overdo the msg. The custard would be the only thing that we probably won’t order again.
Service for an asian restaurant is great, everyone is very polite but don’t expect them to check up on you. It’s the type of place when it gets busy, you’ll need to wave down a waitress if you need anything.
The only thing was after edamame before the rest of our food, we were asked to switch tables to help accommodate a larger party of 5. We were at a table for two and they wanted to push two tables together. We didn’t mind but that’s something to keep in mind.
Considering the prices, you’re able to eat good food and be full (considerably stuffed for me personally) for <$25 per person in Toronto which is uncommon these days. If you’re looking for a cozy japanese spot, would highly recommend.

The food was filling and delicious, I recommend the squid okonomi and I think they were generous with the portion for the price. I give it 4/5 for the sauce to pancake ratio. Personally I would like less so next time I’ll ask for less sauce!

Solid little Japanese diner downtown with fair prices. I went for the squid okonomiyaki with miso soup—flavor was spot on. Would’ve tried the beef, but stuck with the squid since the beef isn’t halal. No regrets; it hit the mark.

What an amazing authentic vibe! I have been trying to come here for a while now but I always end up in the city on the days they are closed. I finally got my chance and it was so worth it!

I love the homey atmosphere this place gives and the pancakes are lovely.
Edit: I visited this place recently and found that the food is not as good as before (pre-covid). Price is still okay, didn't increase by a lot compared to other places.
I recently visited, from Ottawa, after having not been for over 13+ years. I had told my wife about this very special place and was finally able to bring her for a legendary okonomiyaki. The atmosphere is the epitome of charming and nostalgic. The service is exceptional and the food was as spectacular as I remembered. We ordered the vegetable okonomiyaki, which was jam-packed with flavour, a delicious green tea, and their famous custard pudding - we loved it all and can’t wait to go back in our next visit to Toronto. Thank you, Okonomi House! ?☕️
