Unfortunately, nothing good to say about this restaurant.
Food: carpaccio was very fatty, which you do not expect. Stracciattela was salty. The dessert was fat as well. I wasn’t feeling well and kept asking for tea or hot water, got charged $5 per cup.
Service: Our servant was giving us attitude and I kept asking other workers to bring me tea! Like I ordered tea and my food got to me first! Sometimes you’d ask other people and they would forget as well. What’s so hard about tea?
Atmosphere: we specifically asked for a quiet space. We were advised that on Monday night is quiet. I couldn’t hear what the person next me was saying and had to tilt towards them. I only gave 2 stars because place looks good.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed. I rarely write negative reviews, but felt compelled to share this experience. The food is good, though slightly overpriced for what you get. While I understand their desire to preserve the “original taste,” it was surprising that they don’t have basic condiments like ketchup or steak sauce, which felt unnecessarily limiting.
The service also fell short. Our server made mistakes with our wine order not once, but twice, and when it was brought up, the response felt dismissive and unapologetic rather than taking ownership of the error. That significantly affected our experience.
On a positive note, the ambiance was nice and the space itself is enjoyable. However, given the pricing and service issues, I would likely try other restaurants before returning.

The food was horrible. Ordered Branzino and it was not fresh and expensive, basically food is very expensive and not fresh and not taste good. Don't go there for food. Maybe just a drink

Brunch menu was only available on Saturday lunch. We prefer a full menu at lunch not at dinner, and the only option was brunch wich is not very italian.....In italians restaurants a full meny is generally available for lunch too.
From that point of view this restaurant looks more american than italian.

We had high expectations and was disappointed. The food was average, and it was not the worst part. Service was slow and unwelcoming.
On the positive side, it was my birthday so they gave us a tiramissu on the house, which tasted okay. Also, the decor of the interior was gorgeous.

What the heck did you do with the Tiramisu?!
I was not expecting the one made in Rome, but any “Italian” restaurant must respect the BASICS! Tiramisu is made with savoiardi!! You have replaced it with a sad dry cake! Awful presentation as well. Please meet the basic standards.

Oretta really impressed for our group booking of 14 people to celebrate a birthday. Service was meticulous, food was served fresh, hot, and delicious - all our guest raved! The ambience and vibe at Oretta was a big reason for choosing them for our celebration; and it was as beautiful and energetic as always. Great spot for meeting friends, group celebrations, and just eating great food.

Restaurantji Recommends
We had a fantastic experience at Oretta Midtown on Saturday, December 6th. The restaurant’s atmosphere, décor, and food were all excellent, but what truly stood out was the service.
Our server, Laura S., was wonderful — attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. She made great recommendations and ensured everything was perfect throughout the evening.
We also want to give special recognition to Sharifa Jordan, who checked in on us during our visit. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care elevated our entire experience. She made sure we felt looked after and that our night was going smoothly, which we greatly appreciated.
Both Laura and Sharifa made our evening memorable. Thanks to them, we’ll absolutely be returning to Oretta Midtown!

Very basic!!!! Just go for the ambiance not the food.
Honestly, it was okay. Ambience was neat and chic but service was standard (server checked in once), and food was just just aight. Disappointed given the price point.

We went to this Italian restaurant for a business brunch, and it was fantastic. Their brunch menu was incredible - everything on it sounded delicious. I ordered a latte, and the coffee was very good. Everyone at the table was happy with their dishes, and the overall vibe of the place was excellent: unique, stylish, and welcoming.
The service was great as well. I’d definitely recommend coming here for brunch, and I’d love to return to try their lunch or supper menu sometime!
