although the atmosphere was a tiny bit loud, the great food made up for it. Really great portion size and delicious! I personally really enjoy a nice salad with my brunch. The latte was also a special treat. Will be back again!

A cozy brunch spot in east Chinatown O’Somae serves up quite a bit of duck related dishes. Came here twice and the food has vegetable bern solid. The poutine is a bit salty and brisket slightly under flavoured so I’d skip those and do the fried chicken and duck confit dishes. Those are quite delicious and worth trying.

I visited over the weekend for a late brunch. We arrived later in the day (around 2pm) and was seated almost immediately. Between the two of us, we ordered the crabcake mac and cheese and the chicken waffle.
The crabcake mac and cheese came out hot! It was very cheesey and was a great idea to share since it would've been too much for me. The chicken and waffle came with a side of fries and salad. I really enjoyed how they went the extra mile to season their fries. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well. It was also boneless which is a huge plus for me!
I'm glad this brunch restaurant is in the neighbourhood with a nice variety on their menu. Did I mention they have a very cute Sailor Moon painting on their wall too?!

I was looking for a nice place for a weekend brunch that is not overly crowded and has received good ratings, and I'm quite happy that I came across O'Somae. Great service, great food, and a friendly vibe. I ordered Classic Benny with the avocado option. Will definitely go back.

Amazing quality food! The Mac’ cheese is incredible. I’ve also had the brisket Benny with horseradish cream and the duck confit and waffles. So good!

We went in to O’ somae on a Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The restaurant was quite empty and we were seated immediately. We ordered the cappuccinos, brisket Benny, truffle Mac and cheese and the fried chicken.
The service was excellent - very responsive, kind and friendly. However the food was very disappointing. The fries were cold, and the Mac and cheese tasted like kraft dinner. The brisket Benny and chicken dish were also sub par… and we needed salt and pepper for both.
Overall, wouldn’t come here again as the ambience and food was very average.

Good vibe, great food and delicious coffee! Tried their house-made hot sauce— delicious on the benny! It’s decently quiet enough to read if you go on a solo date here.

Vegetarian options: Avocado toast, and various veggie bennys available. Truffle benny sounds great!

This was the best brunch we’ve had on the east end. We went in around 11:45am on a Sunday and were seated right away. Service was very quick and friendly. We ordered the chicken and waffles, and the duck confit benny. Both were delicious. The chicken and waffles in particular was amazing - waffles were still nice and crispy on the outside and chicken was perfectly done. It was two pieces of boneless chicken and four pieces of waffle, which was a great size for us to share both entrees. We enjoyed our food so much that we didn’t speak at all while eating except to comment on how good everything was repeatedly. Even the fries on the side were perfectly seasoned. We will definitely be back

The food was very flavourful. From the smokey bacon to the fried chicken (which had an amazing breading), it was all good.

This place is an absolute hit, hands down, and between the succulent pulled duck, creamy eggs, and Asian-inspired Hollandaise sauce, the duck eggs Benny was 100% the star of the show. I also respect that the dishes come with both salad AND fries (Cajun spiced) for all of us who have FOMO but also want to eat healthy. Overall, I would highly recommend O'Somae to anyone for brunch!
