The atmosphere and service were both excellent—definitely 5-star worthy—but unfortunately, the food and drinks fell short. For a café that presents itself as upscale, a properly trained barista is non-negotiable. The milk should be textured to the right temperature and at least a basic latte art—like a simple heart—should be standard. My latte tasted like hot milk with a shot of espresso, lacking both technique and flavor. As for the chocolate muffin… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it had too much chocolate, to the point of being overwhelming.

This is a lovely spot for coffee and treats, whether you choose to sit indoors or out. They’ve really nailed the ambience, making it a cozy place to relax or work. While the coffee isn’t usually my favourite, on this visit Elisha made ours and they were perfect - made even better by her warm, friendly demeanor. She was such a sweetheart. I often come here for meetings and appreciate how peaceful it usually is.

Service and place is great. I tried the matcha after I saw the good reviews online but I have a feeling that they must have changed the matcha powder because I was disappointed with my drink. I still like the place so I might go back for a coffee or a speciality drink.

Super cute coffee shop, clean, with dog friendly patio. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast sandwich menu is off to the side, almost missed it, but it was tasty. Decent selection of pastries. Ice coffee/cold brew is not very strong.

Cute patio for the summer.
However they charge you extra for plant based milk and extra for vanilla syrup when you get an iced drink, should get rid of that like other coffee shops in the city. No one wants to pay almost $10 for an iced latte 🙃

Didn’t even go inside. Male barista gave me a dirty look walking into the store.

Pleasantly surprised by Palmer. My coffee and miso toffee cookie were amazing! Also, the young woman working as cashier, Alisha, was so kind and friendly. Will be back ☺️

Overall, I have to say Palmer Coffee was good. The young lady at the cash was very friendly, and the BLT sandwich was delicious. A few things did stand out, though. Some of the prices felt a bit steep, and the food took longer to come out compared to other similar cafés. Small details like having the food menu posted on a side wall (easy to miss), and the return station for dishes being tucked behind another wall, made things a bit confusing.

A little way off the Bloor West strip, but worth the journey.

Unfortunately, I didn’t appreciate the below-average service—especially considering I paid nearly $8 for a matcha that was honestly a 1/10. It was so bad I had to toss it after just two sips.

Service has dropped off with apparent new ownership. Abysmal.
