Came for winterlicious and was greeted with some of the best food I’ve ever had and the kindest service! Could not recommend more :)

Food quality is always top tier, and you can really tell the food here was made with intention! It’s fresh, and the menu has good variety. My favourite is the ful and tameya! 10/10 would eat again :)

Accidentally hit Winterlicious one week early at this place. We all absolutely love it!
Intimate dining and incredible meals.
I had the oriental beef sausage kosher, we shared the mixed appetizer plate. So delish!
Don’t be afraid to try this exotic menu.

Papyrus is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. The portions are large so it’s great for sharing and trying new dishes, and all the food I’ve tried has been delicious. My favourites are the koshari, lentil hummus, and the pickles (which I could eat by the pound). There are a ton of great vegetarian, vegan, and meat options so it’s a great spot for all. Highly recommend.

Lentil soup tasted bad, I think it was overcooked in aggressive reheating. Water somehow tasted bad, aggressively citrus in a bizarre way. Service was inattentive. They were polite when I told them, but they didn’t offer to give me a new water or give a refund (I paid in advance). That said, looked like they had a new person in training. The vibe was awkward to dine in with weird placement of pick up counter for takeout (hence how I paid in advance but asked to dine in), bad lighting, and music that sounded more like Muzak than anything genuinely Egyptian. I went at a low traffic time (3 p weekday), where maybe they didn’t have the lentil soup freshly made, but I don’t think that excuses it entirely. The main (takeout) dish was ok, but based on that exclusively even, I wouldn’t go back.

2nd time here and still excellent. Had brunch today with the Ful & Tamaya mixed platter and the Dokka as a starter. The food is absolutely delicious and very filling. I originally sourced it out for a vegan friend but they also serve meat as well. Everything is fresh and flavourful accompanied by great service. I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Probably the best Koshari in Canada. Really close to what you'd get in Cairo!
