More casual than expected. The dinning room is tiny and the place feel more like a lunch stand than a dine-in restaurant. However, the food more than made up for it. The menu is short, but the dishes were exceptional. Everything was either a very good version of the dish or the best I've ever had. The service was welcoming and warm without being cloying or over bearing.

The food was decent and the service was okay once we got over with the ordering.

I really wanted to try their koshari because it looks so good in everyone’s review but as a person who prefers less sauce, I asked if I can have the sauce separately but the server said that wasn’t possible because they didn’t have a dish to put the sauce in. So, I asked if he could put the sauce on the side but he said they couldn’t do that? 🤔
I’ve been to a different Egyptian restaurant that served the tomato sauce separately.

To the owner of the restaurant: please get more dishes for serving the food.

Tried Papyrus for the first time and absolutely loved it! The food was fresh, full of flavor, and felt truly authentic. Our waiter was fantastic, super friendly and really knew the menu. He even explained how to best enjoy the sharing meal, which made the experience even better.

Can’t wait to go back!

In town for a concert and were looking for something new/different and Papyrus ticked both boxes.

We had their family style sharing plates, kinda like a tasting menu that allowed us to try a little bit of everything. It was all incredible… hard to pick a favourite but you don’t want to sleep on their lentil humus or the Dokka when getting started and if you only have room for one thing , try the Koshari, you won’t be disappointed.. on yeah and the pickles are the perfect pallet cleanser.

Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, explained how to properly enjoy each portion of the meal.

Portions in the sharing don’t look huge, but are very filling.

So good! Got the spicy koshari and it tastes like home cooking. Pasta is cooked perfectly. Tons of vegetarian and vegan options.

The food was excellent. Tasty and well presented with good portions and a good price. The staff was very friendly and explained what every dish was in detail. The only problem is that the service was a little slow, it seemed like there was just one person doing everything.

This Egyptian restaurant on the Danforth has some of the best, if not the best Egyptian street food in Toronto. We tried the Koshary plate, Ful/Temya platter, the bird’s nest Kanafa, and traditional Egyptian cake, Basbousa.

Everything was so delicious and tasted very fresh with a homemade feeling to it. Please check out this wonderfully kept restaurant with an excellent atmosphere and staff.

My friends and I went here for summerlicious and the prix fixe menu was pretty good. I ordered the Egyptian burger which was delicious but also got to try the koshary and falafel. The service was really good. Our waiter was nice, explained every course to us when he served it and made a recommendation on how to eat it (like mix this sauce with that etc). The food was good, everyone especially liked the dessert. There was a live band outside the restaurant too which was nice.
