Great tasting food and cocktails. The portion size was a bit small for the oxtail mac n cheese, but it was very flavourful. Amazing service from Sean!

Food was unique and tasted great, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and able to talk about every dish. At one point the head chef came by and chatted with us about the food and his inspirations, which surprised us and we thought was really cool.
We also really appreciate that after we forgot our bag of leftovers we were able to call them after closing and still come and pick it up, thanks again!
All the food was delicious but we especially loved the oxtail mac & cheese, it is a must-try if you go here. Sean was our server and he was fantastic!
I would recommend booking a reservation because it gets busy.

My wife and I came here for dinner after seeing this place pop up on instagram.
We did the Belly Buster meal for 2 and there was plenty of food! The Brussels sprout salad and shrimp fried rice were particularly spectacular. We had fried chicken as part of the meal and it was definitely satisfying! Shaun (hope I remembered his name correctly) our server was great and food came out timely. Atmosphere was energetic but quiet enough to have a conversation.
Only thing to be aware as some have pointed out in other reviews is that when we included drinks, that the price point is on the higher side of casual dining. But would go back again as would love to give the yakisoba and oxtail a go!

In general the food is good but not worth the price or wait. Dumping crushed ramen on top of some food doesn't make it Asian. The Asian influence is definitely weaker than expected. If they want to do Jamaican, Asian, as well as fusion/contemporary they might as well just be a restaurant. I also forgot to take a picture but the menu is half the size that it used to be and the menu is limited so they push you towards their overpricer platters which brings me to the food.
Tried the belly buss platter. Recommend they size down the price and the portion sizes for the platter. The chicken was moist but could use some more sauce. Also one of the pieces was straight chicken skeleton so I felt a little cheated by that. Rice was excellent. Good texture and flavour. Coleslaw was subpar. Spicy cucumber salad was good. Could use less dressing to lean into the crunch more. Tad soggy. Cornbread was great and so was the chicken broth butter. Crispy brussel sprouts salad was great. The dressing complimented the very flavourful brussel sprouts. The crushed ramen on top feels cheap. Calamari was tremendous. Probably my favourite part of the platter.

Their creamy shrimp pasta is fantastic. The brussel sprout salad is really good as well. We liked the French toast as well - very rich so best to share. Our server Shaun was super nice and attentive

Not as dazzled by the food as I anticipated. Serviceable experience all around, don’t plan on rushing back.

This place has been a favourite of mine for many years. If I lived closer to the area I would come by more often. When I am nearby, Patois is always the “go to” spot for all celebrations, meetups, and the like.
I was impressed by the food and the service the first time, and that’s what’s kept me returning. I feel Patois is one of the few restaurants that truly knows how to create fusion cuisine correctly and bring together the right elements from different parts of Jamaican and Asian dishes.
We always receive excellent service and my most recent time was no exception. Our server, Sean, was quite attentive (recommended dishes, water glasses were always full, dishes were cleared promptly, etc) as was all the staff who came by throughout the night, like the lady with the lovely tunic.
All of the food is excellent but my top picks to try if it’s you’re first time going:
* Chinese ‘pineapple’ bun burger. An incredibly savoury, umami packed flavour bomb. They are double patties, not smash patties.
* Izakaya shrimp pasta. Ramen noodles heavily coated in a garlicy, creamy, sweet sauce with crunchy, juicy fried shrimp on top.
* Jerk chicken chow mein—try it with the crispy noodles. Rich, thick oxtail gravy that clings nicely the noodles. Perfect to share.
* Cookie butter french toast. A must try. Fluffy, sweet, decadent. It’s the only dessert on the menu for a reason!
Overall, always a nice time here, looking forward to my next visit.

My new top spot in Toronto. Every single dish was absolutely spectacular, unique, and, all considered, reasonably priced. Sean was the man of the night and made us feel at home. I will undoubtedly return.
It’s always a little scary trying out “hype” spots, but this one absolutely lives up to the hype. Can’t wait to return.

Excellent food and service. If you get the belly buster platter, make sure you upgrade the rice and beans to upgrade to the popcorn shrimp.
Shirley and the manager were excellent. Will be back!
