The coziest of pubs and respectable. The service is great and I was more taken away by their wings - large, flavourful and just well done. Poutine was ok. The environment overall is a great place to be when there are sports game in play. There's ample amount of seats and some in non conventional ways either. A good gathering spot overall.

Ordered the mac & cheese and fish & chips, a pumpkin spice latte and hot chocolate. Unfortunately they couldn't steam the milk so we had to get it cold.
The mac & cheese was decent but the fish & chips is horrible. Ate most of it, thinking it was just a bit doughey but realized it was raw batter inside. The server was wonderful and brought a new one. The second time, it wasn't raw but the batter was like glue/pancake batter inside.
Definitely wouldn't order the fish again, the fries were good though.
Appreciated our server and visually it's a cute little spot.

Was there for a friend's Birthday this past Saturday. Our server Grace did a spot on job with taking care of our orders and is very welcoming. Drinks were amazing and so is their Pauper's burger 👌👌👌

Had my Birthday celebration on the 2nd floor on Jan 10 and the atmosphere, food (especially flatbreads) music and most importantly service (thank you so much to Grace) were amazing, would definitely recommend this spot for anyone hosting an event with a big group.

Paupers is a staple of the annex. I've been going there for 25 years. The atmosphere is pretty great, but holy hell the food is TERRIBLE. Like, shockingly bad. I know it's the kind of place that has never been known for having great food, but whatever they are currently serving at this place isn't even mediocre, it's legit bad. I went recently with a friend, fully aware that the food isn't the greatest due to past experiences there, so it's entirely on me, but I figured I'd play it safe ordering a poutine, because it's pretty hard to mess that up, it's like 3 ingredients. To say it was bad poutine is an understatement. Outside of the very poor quality of this plate of fries (lol) there was basically no gravy on it. It was super dry. I asked our server, who was very nice, for a side of gravy, and then had to wait over 10 min for a side of lumpy gravy to pour over my cold fries. My friend was already finished his meal by the time my gravy came. 0/10.
Our waitress was very nice, and I'm sure I'll be back for beers, but will never eat there again.

⭐☆☆☆☆: FAILURE OF NEIGHBORHOOD RESPONSIBILITY AND DUTY OF CARE
I am writing this review reluctantly. I had intended to leave a positive one. That intention changed.
I was the individual who purchased five Christmas dinners at this establishment and spent a significant amount on drinks on a day when the pub otherwise had little to no business. I did so in good faith, as a neighbor and a supporter of local businesses.
That goodwill has not been reciprocated.
A neighborhood pub has a responsibility not only to serve customers, but to operate in a way that does not compromise the safety, well-being, or dignity of those who live nearby. Between the conduct of staff (including owners and early-morning cleaning crews) and the behavior tolerated from patrons congregating outside the premises, this establishment has repeatedly failed to meet that basic standard.
The persistent presence of people loitering, smoking, and lingering immediately outside my home has created ongoing distress, disrupted my sense of safety, and had a measurable impact on my mental health. Whether intentional or negligent, the effect is the same: an environment that feels hostile rather than neighborly.
Being a “good neighbor” is not optional. It requires awareness, accountability, and a willingness to intervene when a business’s operations negatively affect the people who live around it.
When this pub demonstrates that it takes the health and safety of its neighbors seriously; including mental health, then a positive review would be warranted. Until then, it is not.

A bit overpriced for a plain burger but the vibes were good and the s'mores skillet was really yummy!

The turkey was turkey rolls, which were over cooked. Very disappointing. The rest of the meal was great. And there was plenty of food.

Went for a Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, food can only be described as awful. Turkey was like rubber, stuffing was soggy and we debated if the potato was boxed or not, Our food had obviously been pre-plated and clearly just been left on a hot plate as it was barely even tepid, assuming they were expecting a rush. Definitely won't be eating in here again.
The ambience is really great, and I found the staff to helpful and affable, doing the job with efficiency and a sense of humour. Good place to have a friendly fete.
What started out as a Christmas gathering on the 5th of December 2025, at Paupers Pub, ended with payment issues. Their portable payment scanning device was placed too close to my phone and Google pay paid for my workmates meals. The manager tried reversing the payment error. It failed. Something about some limit reached.
The manager then offered to e-transfer the excess amount. Not having much options, I agreed. The money was transfered quickly and an email notification from my financial instituation arrived detailing the transfer. All good at this time.
About a week later I received an email from the manager of Paupers Pub asking me to check, for an excess payment. That email disapeared.
On December 17th 2025, an email was received from the said manager. It included the person who had organised the event. The manager was trying to insinuate that I had the money they were missing. All this came from an e-transfer she initiated.
My thoughts 1.) why started bothering your customer? 2.) since this is an e-transfer issue, start with Paupers or whosevers financial institution the transfer came from
3) also the amount quoted did not match the money transferred.
I will never patronise Paupers Pub or any of the other fronts under their ownership.
Paupers Pub is insulting and untrustworthy

Terrible experience, I went with workmates last week and initially the service was good but quickly changed as food did not come at the same time. After we go food was told our table had a reservation coming up and we needed to speed up. When the bills came one of my workmates got wrongly charged with another workmate and took forever to get sorted out.
I’ll never go back!

16oz glass (455ml) contained 395.7 ml of liquid. Very much 1 star. Failed on the basics.
