Pauper's Pub is a good as a simple destination after a movie at Hot Docs. They have a standard menu and a decent selection of beers. The noise level depends on the time of day - as with any pub.

We had a group of seven and were able to sit in a little “snug” area and had a great time - able to talk and not be a bother to others, and not have a lot of other noise. The food was really good and our servers were really excellent to us. We had a great evening!! Thank you Paupers!!

Well we arrived at the moment when our server was leaving, so after we settled up with them we didn't see another server for a good 40 minutes! Also, I ordered a couple of cocktails that didn't taste like they had any alcohol in them. Not that that is particularly unusual in Toronto, and maybe having just recently come back from a Dominican Republic all-inclusive, perhaps my tolerances were higher. Or lower. LOL But I'd go back again. We were on the patio and it was lovely and it wouldn't kill me to have what felt like less alcohol for a while. (See above)

Really cool venue with 3 floors and live music and good drinks and comfortable seating options as well as lots of room for standing and mingling. I didn’t try their food but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious!

Absolutely love Paupers any time of year but especially their rooftop patio in the summer. The vibe downstairs is always upbeat and young but the decor still has a cool old timey feel to it.
