Pennies is my go-to cheap drink and food spot on the west side. I LOVE the tator tots, and the pitcher of pennies blonde for $20 is a good deal in the area.

The atmosphere is great at this place with a decent variety of music, nice lighting and movies or retro tv shows playing on the tv's by the bar which gives a cool vibe. The service is wonderful and all of the servers have always treated me well.

However, while I love the vibe here, I often wish that the movies had subtitles so that I could actually enjoy them rather than have them be a treasure presented before me that I cannot enjoy.

My friends and I had just come from the Sabrina Carpenter concert, still buzzing with excitement, and decided to grab food and drinks at Pennies. I was *so* ready to eat — maybe a little too enthusiastic about ordering FOOD — but that’s just me: bubbly, high‑energy, and living off the joy of an amazing show.

After we placed our food order, our server Kathleen came back to take drink orders. To my surprise, she “smart served” me. I wasn’t drunk, I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t stumbling or slurring my words. I was simply excited and animated, the way I always am after something fun.

Honestly, I wasn’t impressed. It felt off, especially since we’re a group of Asian girls who ended up ordering water 🙄.

Loved that they had a separate vegan menu! The tots were a highlight and also LOVE that the patio is pet friendly! Perfect spot for an afternoon drink and bite on a nice day!

* * A note on grades, I rate outwards from three stars **

Pennies overperforms as an after work destination, especially when outdoor seating is available.

Efficient and friendly service pairs with affordable drinks and pub-ish fare.

I love pennies! Been here a few times. It’s great, drinks are great, food is good too. The real reason why I am writing this review is for Justin who was working the bar tonight. He was great, the bar was full and he handled the bar really well, he took care of my friend and I, we were celebrating her birthday and he made it very special. Pennies is very lucky to have him.

Have been here many times and was so sad to see Pennies switched to refined peanut oil for all fried products :( as someone with a severe allergy although the risk is lower, it still makes me nervous

Visited this place with my colleagues, and we had the patio all to ourselves such a great atmosphere! The staff were super friendly which made the experience even better. I tried their cocktails and burgers, and both were really good. Overall, a great spot to relax, enjoy good food, and unwind with friends!

Good for half off topi shelf drinks and free popcorn. As a vegetarian though, the veggie tacos tasted suspiciously like chicken. Tasted so chickeny I wouldn't order them again.

Disappointed in Pennies switching to highly refined peanut oils in all their fried products. As an anaphylactic, while these oils reduce the risk of a reaction, it certainly makes me uncomfortable and unfortunately will not be back.

While I enjoyed my previous visit and the staff and concept are great, I generally would not recommend to others with severe allergies to peanuts.

I love Pennie’s! It’s affordable and is always a vibe. The service staff are friendly and accommodating, it does get busy. This location invites mid-20s to mid thirties crowd

I love that they have free popcorn.
I’ve only tried a few sandwiches but the ones I tried all very tasty. But I was not expecting that Griddle Melt to taste so good. Coney Island Dog is great too
The price is fair, especially for that area
