I expected to like this place since it’s from the same company as Congee Queen, but after two visits I have to admit the food just isn’t good. On my first visit I had the uni pasta and fried kalbi ribs, the ribs were solid but few, and the pasta was overcooked. Aside from the uni, it tasted like a microwaved meal. On my second visit I tried the gomae and tomato hotpot. The gomae sauce was strangely sweet, like a dessert sauce, and didn’t pair well with the spinach. The hotpot was bland, under salted and expensive. Overall, one of the worst dine-in meals I’ve had in a long time. I won’t be coming back.

We visited here for en early Friday dinner and it wasn’t long before the restaurant was filled with groups of all sizes enjoying the lively atmosphere and delicious food. The vibe was welcoming, and the staff were super friendly, helping us navigate the menu with great suggestions.

We ordered “Shrimp & Crabmeat Salad with Asian Sesame Vinegar” from appetizers menu. It was fresh, light and served with the perfect dressing.

For entrée, we ordered “Pineapple Wagyu Burger with Fries” and “Sliced Lamb Teppan Pasta”. The burger patty was juicy and well-seasoned, and the pasta arrived sizzling hot with a rich, creamy sauce.

To end on a sweet note, we shared the “Purple Yam Special Golden Toast” and “Durian Mousse Cake”. The toast was beautifully presented and big enough for four, while the mousse cake was smooth and full of flavour.

Petit Potato’s Asia Tour is a culinary celebration bringing together Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese-inspired menus — each offered in themed weeks from August 15 to September 14. We visited during their Taiwan menu week, but couldn’t resist trying a few extras!

Every dish feels like comfort food with flair. The Popcorn Chicken Ramen was a highlight: crispy, juicy bites of chicken paired with a rich, hearty broth. The Minced Pork & Sausage on Rice carried all the savory satisfaction of a homestyle Taiwanese meal, while the Karubi Beef Short Ribs (off-menu for the Taiwan week, but worth every bite) melted in the mouth with a smoky sweetness.

For dessert, the Matcha Soufflé Pancake stole the show: airy, jiggly, and indulgent, perfectly balanced with a gentle bitterness of matcha. Paired with their House Special Herbal Tea, the meal ended on a warm, comforting note.

What makes Petit Potato special is its playful mix of authenticity and creativity. From ramen to soufflé pancakes, every dish carries a sense of discovery while still feeling familiar. Their current promo (entrée + dessert + drink for $30/$40 (with a golden toast upgrade option)) makes this experience even sweeter.
Petit Potato isn’t just dinner, it’s a mini food adventure across Asia, right in downtown Toronto. Highly recommended!

Really cute little spot with lots of options on the menu! I got the chicken cutlet omurice with extra curry and I thought it was really flavourful! Also got the red bean bingsu and really enjoyed that! Overall I thought the atmosphere was very cute, there was enough seating as the space was quite large and the service was pretty fast.

I initially had high expectations for Petit Potato because of the flashy menu and its relation to the Congee Queen group, but I should have been able to guess the quality of their food from the size of the menu.

Both times I've been there, the food seemed to have been made by amateurs with no experience cooking, especially the desserts. We ordered a matcha lava cake, and when it didn't come out for a long time, we questioned the servers and they said that the cake kept exploding and they needed to try again. In the end, they couldn't fix it and served the exploded cake sitting in a pool of molten matcha cream. They ended up not charging us for the cake, so it was fine, but this experience should tell a lot about the quality of their cooking.

The next time, we ordered the souffle pancakes, which tasted more like steamed eggs than any kind of dessert. There were still pieces of whole egg whites dangling from the pancake. We also got the mango golden toast, which again, I had high expectations for since it was advertised everywhere, but hidden beneath the layers of cream were hard blocks of burnt toast. It was truly a test of arm strength just to cut the toast to split with the group. The burnt taste and difficulty of eating made it extremely unpleasant. If you want to try this dish, I'd recommend going to Mabu Generation instead.

The main dishes were okay, although lacking in flavour. Personally, I ordered the sliced beef teppan rice. There was very little beef and a whole lot of rice that tasted like nothing. Overall I don't recommend this place if you're looking for tasty food. You can come if you like the atmosphere. Who knows, you might even get a free lava cake if they still haven't figured out how to microwave it properly!

The food was really good and the lunch specials are really generous compared to many other restaurants on average around toronto.

Their lunch offer was a lunch menu with some appetizers and a small dessert which really nice, for only about 16-20 dollar range depending what you add on the lunch, like a drink that's discounted with the meal.

I had the chicken fettuccine which is very unique dish and the flavor were quite savory which is not like other normal restaurants around the area, who are quite bland and too expensive for a much lower quality than Petite Potato.

I highly reccommend coming here! It's affordable than most and very filling for lunch!

Awesome ambience, it made me feel rich. They clearly take care in their setting. The food was good for the price point I had the Uni spaghetti. Solid portion and well cooked scallops.

I got the crispy baby tako and the fresh fruit sago and they were so good!
The fruits in the sago were all so fresh and sweet and the coconut milk was so nutty. The crispy baby takos were super crispy and chewy, absolutely loved it. I definitely considered ordering two of them!

We were made to be seated close right by the glass and water section, which was fine however, and the servers would loudly smash the glasses and water jars which was painful to the ears. Just smashing glasses with glasses each time, right behind my ears. Someone needs to tell them to be gentle when keeping the glass and jar on the area. Food was fine however we wanted to order some sauce for the bimbimbap however neither our server nor any other server showed up to us or even made an eye contact. After 15 minutes, I had to get up and go to the kitchen area to get a server's attention and order the sauce. Awful service and getting servers aren't mindful of their actions of leaving glasses.

My friends and i went to try yesterday night as we saw a video on tiktok that very inviting. I had their black garlic pork ramen, my friends had bingsu and salmon dish, there’s was nothing ordinary. And since we were there until closing (1am) , the server was not nice. she’s not smiling and grabbed the card machine unpleasantly after i paid my bill.
