Been to pilot a few times because it is in the path. I always used to come for the pear cider and I am really sad that that is gone, I wish some of their staples stayed on the menu. This summer I’ve been really into matcha and tried their mango sticky rice matcha which was creative and the strawberry matcha. I quite liked the mango sticky rice one although I couldn’t quite taste the sticky rice (coconut / condense milk flavouring) but the mango comes out quite nicely. I thought the strawberry one was fairly tasty too. My only small issue is there is way too much ice in the drink.

I paid $7 for a cup of milk with a faint of matcha

Went to try their new Mango matcha latte. Was disappointed that while they were advertising this new variant in the store and on social media, it was out of stock. On inquiring next availability, the staff said it might become available again next week. I went ahead and ordered iced strawberry matcha latte and the drink was very watery and matcha powder wasn’t stirred properly at all, before pouring it on the ice and milk. These lumps will obviously not dissolve later no matter how much you stir. Very bad experience. It is good to see the cafe expanding their menu and innovating but it would benefit to focus on the process and recipe before blindly hopping on the matcha trend.

If I were rating based on coffee alone, it’d be a 3 out of 5 for me. If I include the quiet space and relaxed vibe, maybe a 4. Overall, a decent spot if you want somewhere low-key, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for.

Pilots strawberry matcha latte was pretty good! Just make sure you stir before you drink. Service could be improved - very slow and staff weren’t the nicest.

Their coffee was not good, unfortunately. The strawberry matcha was good I liked it. There is a small cafe with a few chairs. It is a good takeaway cafe.

This morning on my way to the office, I had my heart set on grabbing a muffin from Pilot for breakfast.

I could’ve sworn the old recipe had carrot, oats, and pumpkin in it—so when I didn’t see any pumpkin today, I froze for a second. Ended up switching things up and getting a scone instead, since it’s been a while.

I had a feeling they gave me the wrong one, and yep—got to the office and saw it was loaded with a thick layer of icing on top.

I basically had to hack off the entire top, and it felt like I lost a third of it in the process.

The inside still tasted pretty good, but man, what a waste. Their coffee is ok but a bit overrated…

BAD EXPERIENCE
I ordered a strawberry matcha drink. The staff started making it, then completely FORGOT and moved on to other orders.
The ice melted in the cup, and the matcha powder just sat in the tea whisking bowl.

After waiting 10 minutes, I asked and found out the half-made drink was actually mine. The staff quickly stirred the now cold, undissolved matcha powder (which should be mixed with hot water), poured it into the melted ice water, and handed it to me with no apology.

The drink tasted TERRIBLE — the matcha powder wasn’t even dissolved. Thanks for starting my day off so well.

Their service got worse day by day. They are running a coffee without any sweeteners. The barista was extremely rude.

Pilot is a solid option for a half decent coffee. As a coffee snob this place won't blow you away, but as long as I'm not paying $7 for a milk coffee, this will meet reasonable expectations. At this particular location, today they had incredibly quick, efficient service at 9:35am on a Monday morning. The counter staff are polite without creating undue expectation (I'm of the belief that if you're too friendly, my coffee won't be as good). Seating is limited so it might not be my go to spot for client meetings, but as a spot on the Concourse it offers a short reprieve from the bustle without fully disconnecting from the fray.

The matcha latte was bland and tasted like only milk with a hint of matcha. Went back again a different time for the chai latte and it also wasn’t strong in chai flavour at all - mostly milk again 😭

Their iced honey chai is laughable. It was so watered down yet also so milky and no honey taste at all. I've gotten their matcha before, but every time it's so grainy but I always hope it's better the next time.

Wondering what’s the hype on this coffee place so I tried out the flat white beverage with vanilla flavour and oat milk. I enjoyed the beverage. Service was pretty good too and gave recommendations what’s best. Definitely returning to try out the other coffee/tea beverages on the menu next time.

This is probably the best coffee I had while in Toronto (so far)

The service was excellent as well and the salted chocolate chip cookie was a 10/10
