We had a very disappointing experience during our family's lunch visit today. I had ordered the kids’ chicken fingers and fries for my child, who has a seafood allergy, but we were mistakenly served fish and chips. When I brought this to the waitress’s attention, she neither acknowledged the error nor offered a sincere apology. Instead, she abruptly and dismissively said, “You said fish and chips,” and walked away.
I calmly clarified that we had not ordered fish and chips, but chose not to escalate the situation — including disclosing my child’s seafood allergy — due to the unnecessarily hostile tone she had already taken. The entire experience spoiled the meal for us, and I immediately lost my appetite.
I know with absolute certainty that I did not order fish and chips. I would never order that for my child, given my child’s seafood allergy. That’s not a detail I would ever be careless about.
I’m not upset about the order being wrong — mistakes happen. What I found unacceptable was the way it was handled. There was zero accountability. Rather than owning the error or even considering that she might have misheard, the initial reaction was to shift the blame onto the customer — in this case, me — and do so rudely. That is absolutely not okay, especially when a food allergy is involved.
What makes this even more disappointing is that the restaurant was not busy at all. Besides a couple of other customers, it was just our party of six. There was no pressure or rush that might justify the lack of attention to our order. The waitress took orders for our party of six — including two appetizers and multiple entrées — without writing anything down or repeating the order back to us to confirm our order before submitting it to the kitchen. That level of carelessness, followed by defensiveness and an unwillingness to take responsibility, is appalling.
She later returned and offered a hollow apology, calling it a “misunderstanding.” But this wasn’t a misunderstanding. It was a mistake caused by her poor order-taking practices and a failure to listen, followed by an inappropriate attitude. Perhaps next time, she should take the simple step of writing orders down instead of trying to rely on memory — and then doubling down when something goes wrong.
We will not be returning. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and I truly hope it is addressed to prevent others from having a similarly unpleasant experience.

I find the food was better before. The small potatoes not roasted but appeared to be boiled and very oily. This was a take out order on skip the dishes first time ordering this way. Used to be our familys”s go to bit take out and dine in. In fact had two major functions there. Disappointed, not likely to order any time soon. Or dine in.

The food was a little slow but the food is Soo delicious it's worth the wait. We had 5 toddlers with us and did not feel unwanted. The wait staff was very good to us and was very attentive.
Kid-friendliness: Needed 3 high chairs and they were able to round them up very fast.

Really nice atmosphere with great service and amazing food. Everything was authentic and tasted perfect. We had the battered calamari, beet salad and sausage to start. Piri Piri chicken and octopus as the main. The vino verde wine was really good too. Portions are generous. And the waiter was Portuguese so was really knowledgeable about what to order!

I loved my first meal here at Piri Piri! The Portuguese chicken was so delicious as was the fries and salad that came with it. The breaded calamari rings were so tender too! I also loved that they had Somersby Cider because they use real apples. So refreshing.
We were both so stuffed but we each ordered crème brulee each because we both they'd be small. But they were huge and so delicious! Foodgasm for sure! Plus the presentation was one of the best I've seen for a crème brulee.
The ambiance was so warm and opulent. Since it was a sunny Saturday afternoon we ate on the patio. The service staff were so awesome and friendly which we really appreciated. We actually had three different servers check up on us.
The restaurant is referred to as Casual Upscale Dining so I felt super pampered! But also felt underdressed in shorts and t-shirt. Thankfully I still thoroughly enjoyed the food and fantastic experience here. Definitely coming back!

The Piri Piri chicken gave me terrible food poisoning - since I ate it last night I’ve had constant diarrhea and vomiting all day. I don’t know how they can undercook or mess up their signature dish but it is really disappointing. I will certainly never eat here again and I recommend others avoid it as well. Ive heard from my friends that they’ve also gotten food poisoning from this restaurant. Really disappointed.

This place is such a neighbourhood gem! The space is beautiful and immediately inviting. Staff were attentive and friendly. I was craving chicken alfredo from a favourite Charlottetown restaurant but Piri Piri's was so delicious, it is now on top. My boyfriend really enjoyed his grilled squid as well. Kudos to the incredible chef. Will definitely try desserts next time!

I had my baby shower here back in August and had a great time. The food was really good and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The planning experience was smooth and I didn’t feel stressed at all. The space is nice and renovated. The staff allowed us to decorate the space the night before which was really helpful. I would recommend hosting an event here or even going out for a delicious dinner.
