I understand the hype. I understand the long queue. And I understand the long commute for this pizza. The dough is absolutely perfect. It was crispy and chewy, it was delicious bread. We ordered the vodka pizza and wow, it blew me away. The sauce was flavourful and yet so simple. The cheese perfectly would pair with every bite of the vodka sauce. I would suggest ordering ahead of time and picking up one pie to share with friends. The line for slices is very, very long and because the food is made from scratch, you will be waiting a significant amount of time. I would highly recommend coming here for pizza if you are in the area. The question now remains, Pizzeria Badiali or North of Brooklyn? I am so excited to find out!

A few weeks ago, we were driving somewhere else and we happened to pass Pizzeria Badiali, and I was fairly shocked by the huge lineup outside. I figured, okay I guess I'm never trying that. So when I had the chance to sample a couple of their pizzas yesterday, I jumped at the chance. The two pizzas in question were the Cacio e Pepe ("shredded mozz, fior di latte, cacio sauce, pecorino and black pepper") and the Vodka Pie ("spicy vodka rosé sauce, fior de latte, pecorino, padano, sicilian oregano"). I tried the Cacio e Pepe 'za first and holy smokes is it ever tasty. That cacio sauce is a real winner; it's super flavorful and I could easily see myself adding it to everything if I ever got my hands on it. And when it's combined with everything else, the Cacio e Pepe is unquestionably one of the better pizzas I've had as of late. The Vodka Pie, while good, didn't quite blow me away, however. It's a decent pizza, but the somewhat neutral taste of the vodka sauce, combined with a lack of other flavors, made this one a little on the tasteless side for me. I still ate a couple of slices and enjoyed them very much, but compared to the Cacio e Pepe? Not the best. Oh, I should also mention the Creamy Pepperoncini dip, which pretty much knocked my socks off. It captures the flavor of pepperoncini but not in an overwhelming way. It's creamy and delicious. Highly recommended.

Review updated 6 months laterAfter trying pizza from all around the city and also being a home cook myself, Badiali is not the best pizza in town.Ordered a Margherita, Hot Pepper & Salami, & Pepperoni. The sauce and cheese is very mild but is overtaken by any meat toppings. The salami and pepperoni is very salty. The Pepperoni is very greasy and too sour. The only thing that makes Badíali stand out is their crust. By no way are they the best, they are the only place that uses an enriched pizza dough, aka lots of olive oil in the dough. If I were to guess, I'd think they're at a 3-7% oil, 3% salt, 61.5% hydration. It's light, airy and crispy.Very slow service as one oven cannot keep up with demand. I waited 20-25 min around 4pm on a Friday. It's a good, pricey slice but it's definitely not worth the wait.Original reviewTried 3 flavors:Vodka - did not live up to the hype. The pizza was on the blander side. It needs more of a kick in the vodka sauce and more pecorino to bring it the umami.Mushroom Bianco - very balanced, but slightly drier than I prefer. I believe this is a one off. Very delicious for a white pie. Could use a bit more salt. Overall delicious.Salami & Hot Peppers - astounding. Did not see it on the menu but the staff recommended it. Great balance of salty, savory and sour. This was better than expected and took me by surprise.Overall, great experience. At 830pm on a mid-October Friday, we lined up for only 15 minutes. Very crispy crust and deep flavours makes this the best pizza joint in Toronto (for now).Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian option. Vodka pizza does not have alcohol

I've been eager to try Pizzeria Badiali ever since hearing about it on social media. I thought it might be hyped up and not all that great. I finally got to try the Margherita and Mushroom Bianco and it is definitely worth the hype! Delicious, fresh, and authentic! This really is the best pizza in Toronto!

Pizzeria Badiali in Toronto certainly lives up to its reputation as a must-try spot. Located in a bustling residential area on Dovercourt Road, it’s hard to miss due to the line that often forms outside. However, don’t let that deter you—the team at Badiali is efficient, ensuring you won’t wait long. The real challenge might be finding street parking! The restaurant offers limited outdoor seating, which fills up quickly, and operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations. We opted for slices to sample the variety, though whole pizzas are available depending on the day.The selection we tried—pepperoni, cheese, mushroom bianco, and cheese with white sauce—delivered on taste beyond expectation. Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it possibly one of the most memorable pizzas I’ve had in Toronto. The standout among the slices we tried was undoubtedly the pepperoni. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, with the perfect balance of savory pepperoni, tangy tomato sauce, and gooey melted cheese. It had that classic pepperoni pizza taste that instantly transports you to a state of pizza bliss. However, my personal favorite was the cheese with white sauce. The combination of creamy white sauce, perfectly melted cheese, and expertly baked crust was truly mouthwatering. It offered a delightful departure from the traditional tomato-based pizzas, yet still packed a punch of flavor that left me craving more. Each slice was an indulgent treat that had me coming back for seconds.Overall, Pizzeria Badiali exceeded my expectations and firmly secured a spot among my favorite pizza joints in the city. I recommend giving it a try at least once to judge for yourself. Trust me, it’s worth the hype!

8/10 compared to other pizza spots, but i feel like there miiiight be better pizza options in Toronto. the wait isn't too bad but finding seating is really annoying. nonetheless, Badiali's burrata marinara pizza is pretty good. i feel like their garlic dip is the star of the show ! 10/10 garlic dip

Believe the hype. The pizza is worth the consistently long lines. Fresh, hot, flavourful. Got the blanco mushroom pizza and the margarita with burrata and the hot honey sauce. Coming back soon.

The line was a bit long and have to wait even on a rainy day, but the slices were really fresh and different flavours which you would not find commonly. They didn't have the cheese pizza at that time which was a bit unfortunate but the Margherita was amazing.

Very disappointed in the handling of the food. If your not eating pepperoni why should veg pizza taste and smell like it. I have never seen someone put veg pizza in same area as meat in the display case. And the employees didn’t seem to thing anything of it. I will not be going back as I’ve been there several times now but today witnessing that carelessness was extremely disappointing.
