We were there on Saturday evening without a reservation and managed to get a table. Later, the place got quite busy.
The atmosphere is great — very vibrant and lively. The interior is eclectic and diverse, which actually makes it really special and enjoyable.
I also appreciated that they offer virgin cocktails, as I don’t drink alcohol.
The food was tasty; I tried the cheese quesadilla and really liked it.
The waitresses were very kind and friendly, which made the experience even better.

Went for dinner Friday night / had the Guacamole and chips to start and the Ceviche , and split the chicken tacos and grilled fish tacos / chased it down with a classic line margarita - food and ambience were outstanding / service was lacking - had to chase the waitress down when trying to leave

Food that feeds your soul, drinks are amazing too. The Brazilian waitress was super nice and helpful. Loved the vibe, service and everything tasted fantastic.

Two ladies working today as the waitress they are unprofessional and rude. Both of them don’t know how to talk/speak with their customers. Waste of time and money.

Absolutely amazing experience! Playa Cabana Cantina is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. The food was incredibly delicious, full of authentic flavors. The service was spectacular everyone was so friendly and attentive. The drinks were super tasty and perfectly made. Plus, the place itself is beautifully decorated, with such a fun vibe. Can’t wait to come back! 🌮🍹✨
Absolutely wretched experience — the worst I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. We were charged for food that we never received, and were refused a refund. We will never step foot on this establishment again. The manager’s behavior was utterly unethical.
Edited to respond to the manager’s reply: your behavior was entirely untoward. We made a two-block error in terms of delivery location, and when we tried to change the address — two minutes later — it was proving difficult on the app, so my partner cancelled, in order to resubmit the order to the correct address. He was charged a “cancellation fee”, however, which was the entirety of the bill — $117. In some panic, we tried calling your restaurant five times, and then drove directly there (a nine-minute drive) since no one answered. When we arrived you told us the phone line issue was external and not your fault, (even though you could easily have had calls forwarded to a mobile phone) You proceeded to tell us you’d tossed the entire meal we ordered — and then offered to show us your garbage. We accepted, and after we started walking toward the kitchen, you stopped in your tracks and said you had changed your mind and refused to show us the food. You told us to take up the issue with Uber — knowing it’s impossible to get anything but prescribed text responses. We have not received a penny in return (something about which I believe you have discretion, given the cancellation time was mere minutes after the online order was entered). You kept saying you wouldn’t get all the money back from Uber — only 80 percent — while we never asked for a refund — just to be given the food we ordered. What was even more galling is that you even refused to give us the guacamole we had ordered — which you admitted you’d placed in the fridge —and went on to call us “entitled”. The entire experience was absolutely miserable and we literally felt robbed. We ended up eating at a nearby restaurant and asked the server there about our experience and she expressed some shock. She said you would never have disposed of the food that quickly (by evening’s end, surely, but not minutes after we placed our order) and to not even give us the guacamole we paid for was absurd. To reiterate — this was an abysmal failure in customer service.
Final response (in response to the owner/manager’s edited response): You lied in person. You lied in your original response (saying the food had already been picked up, when it most certainly had not, given the order was cancelled promptly and you even offered to show us the food you “threw out” (an offer you reneged on, if you’ll recall)). I see nothing of value in anything you have to say. I’m done with this conversation, and most certainly with your restaurant.

I ordered the birria tacos and told the server no peppers, but they still came out covered in peppers. The meat was chewy instead of tender, and the chips and salsa were mid. I also noticed other tables had sauce condiments, but ours didn’t get any. Overall not the best experience.

Quick lunch with the Mrs. Tuna Ceviche was a nice portion and very yummy with fresh tortilla chips. Got fried fish taco and octopus. Both extremely flavourful. One thing we noticed was how much octopus was in it. Very generous. Server was extremely attentive and observant.
