Good spot. Needed a quick nibble on my way home and stopped in for two empanadas. Got the beef one, and the guava / cheese. The guava cheese one was very tasty and unique (to me lol), the beef one was good too. They are on the smaller side so wouldve been more full eating more than 2, but it was fine. Wouldn't rush back but it was a nice easy lunch stop.
I wanted to love this place but it just didn't do it for me.
I made a reservation online and they said over the phone that they don't accept reservations online so they didn't see it in the system when I called to confirm a week or so later. While it didn't matter in the end as there were plenty of tables, it was an odd enough experience.
The women's washroom didn't have soap or paper towels. And there was no signage to differentiate the men's from women's (one had a set of urinals). While this may have been intentional, some signage could have been helpful to show they they both are unisex bathrooms. This just seems like a very simple detail to communicate to ensure your customers' comfort.
The service was insanely slow. Like snail's pace. Our empanada came like 10 minutes after we finished eating our arepas. We ordered starters and needed to ask for side plates and cutlery, and it took a couple tries to get the right amount of cutlery (there were only 4 of us).
The food was fairly enjoyed by half the table. I thought it was just okay and not enough to look past the rest of the experience I'm afraid.
Oh and the menues were so wrinkled and old it felt they needed to be replaced years ago.
All these things combined mean I likely won't be returning. It's unfortunate because it has the potential to be a great spot. But especially since I brought family here for my birthday for a casual lunch, it felt like an extra letdown.

I ordered the cheese and guava empanada (I think they use strawberry jam and call it guava) with the assortment of mini arepas - the papa Jean was amazing - the Reina - was terrible - I got to chew cartilage throughout - yuck - and the cartinas - which the marinate was blah and alittle spicy.
The service was terrible - as I received a straw to mix my americano with, once the food was delivered to the table - no one came to ask me how the food was, or if I needed anything. I then proceeded to wait to get the bill and after waiting 15 mins- I got up and went to the front to cash out - as the place was empty - they were more focused about cleaning I guess.
I will not be returning here. I have tried in the past and it’s just not worth it.

A cute little venezuelan cafe that is very close to the coxwell station. They also have a patio and are dog friendly. I had a horchata coffee with oat milk and no sugar and it was sooo good! It could’ve been hotter though. If you don’t sip it quick, it’s gonna get cold!
They do have vegetarian and vegan options. I ordered their vegan fries and vegan empanadas and they were below mediocre IMHO. Perhaps just not up to my taste as my friend absolutely loves their empanadas. May be it’s the vegan ones that are bland? Not sure.
Nice place to work! Their wifi was not bad. I will come back with my dog another time to perhaps try other dishes. If not, I’ll at least have the horchata latte again!
They also had a lot of frozen empanadas and so many cookies and the like!

Had an iced latte and 3 arepas: the cauliflower-hibiscus was possibly my favourite. But the shrimp-avocado and Black bean-queso were also delicious. Messy but a great sampler from their summer menu. Service was attentive. Super cute little spot. Really good coffee (and I’m really picky about coffee). I can’t wait to go again and try more items that looked amazing on the menu! We had lots of time to chat, which also means it wasn’t that loud. A great spot for a get-together.

Empanadas are made fresh and are SO good. Also had a lemonade which wasn’t that sickly sweet stuff - was very refreshing.
Highly recommend this place!
