Among all the Persian restaurants I’ve tried in downtown, I’d say Pomegranate is easily one of the best. The portions aren’t as large as what you typically get at Persian spots uptown, but every bite is full of flavor.

I tried the Morghe-Torsh for the first time and really enjoyed it. The lamb shank, served with baghali polo, was also cooked perfectly—tender and flavorful. The only thing I found a bit underwhelming was the side with the Morghe-Torsh, which was just a few lettuce leaves.

What really stood out to me, though, was the nostalgic Persian décor and warm, authentic vibes—it adds so much to the dining experience.

The traditional Iranian ambiance of the restaurant is truly authentic and visually stunning. The staff are very warm and friendly, but the quality of the food is average.

We went to the restaurant yesterday and had such a great experience. Our server was a lovely woman who spoke perfect Farsi and was incredibly kind and welcoming. I ordered Baghali Polo, Zeytun Parvardeh, and Kashk-e Bademjan they were all amazing. We also tried the pomegranate sangria, which was really refreshing. One of the dishes we had tasted a lot like Ghormeh Sabzi, I think it was called Morgh Torsh it was a bit salty but still flavorful.

The Baghali Polo was definitely my favorite. I can’t believe I’ve passed by this place so many times and never stopped in. The interior was beautiful full of colors, carpets, tiles, and chandeliers. It had such an authentic and cozy vibe.

They do close a bit early (around 9), and we arrived late, but they were so polite and never rushed us. They kept checking in, refilling water, and making sure we were comfortable. We also had Akbar Mashti for dessert, which was a great way to end the meal. I wanted to try the Boz Ghormeh too, but it was sold out hopefully next time. Definitely a gem.

I really love this restaurant. It's beautifully designed in a traditional style, which immediately sets the right atmosphere. One thing that stands out is the owner's partner although she is not Persian, she knows more about the history of Iran and its cuisine than many Iranians I know (I apologize if she is not the owner's partner; I guess that is what I was told years ago). She is the most experienced and usually the main person to take orders. Her deep knowledge and genuine respect for the culture and food are truly impressive. She's also incredibly helpful and detailed when explaining dishes, which is great if you're unsure about what to try.

The service is always warm and professional, and the food is absolutely heavenly. It's consistently delicious; I've never had a bad experience here, either with the food or the service.

Maybe, one constructive comment: the portions are smaller compared to other Persian food places and the prices are higher. BUT I think we are paying for good quality and service which is fine.

Thank you to the owner and all the staff, especially the talented cooks. You’re doing an amazing job!

Expensive but very good. The waiters don't seem Iranian and don't know the menu which I find odd. The owner is presumably one who takes the orders and can give recommendations.

What should I say 🤔. The location is good, the atmosphere, and authentic music is good as well. The food is just OK. The service: they refused to split our bill ( group of 6). Is it a Joke? Are you a restaurant or What? The 18 % tip was already included. So clients should pay 18% for service, calculating their bills by themselves? It's ridiculous. The evening was ruined.

The restaurant is beautiful and charming. However the dining experience was a bit below expectations. Portions were average but felt a little pricey. The Kashk e Bademjoon dip and Bastani Akbar Mashti dessert were definitely the highlights with great flavors. The mains were a bit disappointing though. The rice could have been more flavorful and the sides could be better to help bring the dishes together. The flavours were a little overwhelming. Reservation is recommended as it gets busy, but parking is a nightmare.

Unfortunately, this is my first negative review ever. My parents came down to visit, and I wanted them to try Persian food for the first time. My father pulled a long hair from his mouth the second bite he took, and it ruined everyone’s appetite. Although these things do happen, they should be dealt with properly with professionalism. We showed them the hair, and they did apologize, but when the bill came, not even the plate with the hair in it was discounted or removed from the bill. We clearly didn’t eat the food or pack anything to go, but we were fully charged. It’s a shame; we won’t be coming back again.

First time trying persian and it was worth the try. The food tasted genuine. The place and the dish felt homey, with a very friendly service.
