Dropped by Anar Restaurant the other night, and honestly, the vibe was super cozy — very traditional Persian décor, the kind of place that makes you feel like you just walked into someone’s mehmooni back home.
Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. I was hoping the Shirin Polo would come with real Iranian rice — that would’ve taken it to the next level. But credit where it’s due: the fresh pomegranate juice was absolutely amazing, and the kashk-e bademjan was honestly one of the best we’ve had in the city. Their Barbari bread was warm and perfect — though I have to say, if they ever bring Sangak, that would be a total game-changer.
My son wasn’t a fan of the Morgh-e Torsh, but to be fair, it was our first time trying that dish, so maybe we’re not the best judges.
Overall, a nice spot with great Persian ambiance. With a couple tweaks to the menu, it could easily become a go-to for us.

Great decor and average food.
In my opinion, the lamb was poorly seasoned. The rice was okay. No one in my group finished the meal. We were trying our best to be optimistic since it was a friend’s special day but we couldn’t fake it.
I would not order the sour milk drink unless you already know someone in your group likes it. Many people order it and don’t finish it. It’s an acquired taste.
The ladies who run the place are nice and the decor was amazing.
