As far as gastropubs go, this is one of the better ones in the city. Stopped by for brunch and got:
- Prohibition Breakfast Combo: Huge!!! Has all the breakfast staples. Loved how they doubled down on the carbs with both pancakes and french toast. The star though were the meats, as both the sausage and bacon tasted fantastic.
- Calabrese Mussels: Good amount, mussels were pretty fresh, and the sauce had a nice kick. Great bread to soak everything up.
- Jumbo Thai Shrimp: Only miss of the meal for me, as the portion was a bit small and taste was just ok.
- 8 Layer Chocolate Cake: Moist and chocolatey without being overly sweet. The side jam was a great semi-sour counterbalance.
Prices are what prices are these days. Service is impeccable - friendly, informative, quick. Place is well laid out and has a great classic decor. Vibe is casual and welcoming. This has all the elements needed for a great pub.
Had an amazing breakfast here! What a very cool place to have a meal. The staff was incredible and the food was delicious. The decor is in the art deco 1920 style. Very classy
Love the fish tacos! Also have a great steak & frites
We had a decent experience at Prohibition Gastropub. The food was generally quite good—my wife’s steak was cooked perfectly to her liking, and the fries were especially delicious. The burrata was another standout dish—fresh and flavorful. I had the fish tacos, which were okay but nothing out of the ordinary, a bit too basic for the price point.
The drinks, however, were excellent. My wife’s cocktail, The Spilled Tea (an Earl Grey and lavender infusion), was a highlight—unique and well balanced.
Where the experience fell short was the atmosphere. The music selection was uninspired pop and a little too loud, which detracted from the dining experience. Also, there were too many TV screens for what I expected from a gastropub setting. A more curated music playlist and a toned-down ambiance could elevate the vibe significantly.
Overall, we enjoyed the meal, but the environment could use a bit more refinement to match the quality of the food and drinks.
Amazing experience. Great food and service. Thank you Laura for making us delicious cocktails. ✨🍀🎉
If you’re a long time customer of Prohibition you will appreciate that this review is comparative to last year and even the year prior. Service is mediocre, food=ok but shrinkflation, atmosphere -same ol. You can do better prohibition! Also, it’s 2025. Perhaps consider allowing your female wait staff to wear comfortable attire.
Busy for a leaf game but was seated at the bar and received drinks and food quickly and efficiently.
Chris and Natalie were awesome. Will definitely come back for happy hour. The grilled calamari was SO good. And the man beside us was eating chicken wings that smelt amazingggg

Good place, we came for drinks with some friends, our waitress Talia super nice and attentive.
Then we saw in the web site they have happy hour from 10 to 12 and the Saturday there is a DJ that we loveee the 🎵 music selection. Was a very good night.
***We returned back for new year's celebration but we expect the nice dj we had before but was not. The celebration was not quite organized. No counting time, nothing special in the screens. They have props in the table but they didn't go to the tables to share the hats and lights :( . They didn't have even something to make the toast.
Service amazing as always Brenna, Laura at the bar, and Shimay amazing.
*The food good good size, flavors, seasoning. Only the Cheesecake was with refrigerator flavor. Not fan.

Went to the Christmas market! Drove 2 hrs to get there and ate at prohibition! Great nite out with friends order anything off menu and it will arrive hot plentiful and tasty ! . Side note I forgot my cell there and it was safe 2 hrs later upon pickup . With debit card and credit cards undisturbed! Thank you thank you !

Went there for Sat lunch with bunch of friends. Food was good, staff was nice and service was quick. Had fish & chips (good & not greasy), Thai mussels (quite good, quite spicy) and French toast (equivalent to 2-3 toasts with vanilla ice cream, maple syrup & fruits). Overall found dishes to have good quantity. Ended up $72 for 3 mains.

I had the Prohibition breakfast combo and it was very good. Like I could not complain about anything at all. From the eggs, to the pancake and the bacon, everything was done to perfection (well for my taste buds).
